Boosie Badazz Wants To Direct A YSL RICO Case Movie

Boosie Badazz wants to make a film about Young Thug, Gunna and their YSL collective’s RICO case that currently still has Thug behind bars.

Heavily into self-funded film production these days, Boosie premiered his latest effort, Where’s MJ, at Clark Atlanta University last week. While there, he spoke with AllHipHop about his next moves and expressed interest in telling the YSL story.

“I’ll document it. I’ll shoot the film,” he said. “Free all them boys. I don’t want nobody in there.”

He also advocated for YFN Lucci’s release while talking to AHH – who’s also in jail for RICO charges. A YSL member that was accused of trying to kill Lucci actually became the latest of the crew to take a plea deal in the RICO case.

YSL co-defendant Antonio Sumlin, who is also known as Obama, allegedly sought permission from Thugger for a second attempt to murder Lucci while behind bars in March.

Gunna, Young Thug’s brother Unfoonk, Slimelife Shawty, Lil Duke and YSL co-founder Walter Murphy have also taken plea deals, bringing the 28 defendants down to 22 ahead of the trial.

Gunna was sentenced to five years with one served in prison where he was being held since being arrested in May as part of the YSL indictment. The remaining four-year sentence will reportedly be “suspended” and Gunna will serve the rest in the form of 500 hours of community service.

All parties who have pleaded out have been hit with “snitch” allegations since returning home – which they all deny.

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” Gunna said in a statement upon his release.

“My focus of YSL was entertainment — rap artists who wrote and performed music that exaggerated and ‘glorified’ urban life in the Black community.”

Atlanta-based reporter George Chidihas said that it’s unlikely Young Thug will be offered a plea deal as prosecutors view him as “the target of this case” and are seeking a conviction that will land him in prison. Jury selection in his trial is scheduled to begin on January 5.
