In an interview with VladTV, the Baton Rouge rapper spoke about meeting the currently imprisoned record executive in 2008.

He said: “Before I went to prison, Suge came down there to Baton Rouge in ’09/’08, he was talking about signing me. People was telling him I was his next 2Pac.”

Discussing his meeting with Suge, Boosie refused to divulge too many details about their talks but did admit he was considering signing to Death Row, which had largely laid dormant since Knight was originally sent to prison in 1996.

“Everything happen for a reason. When I’m down with you, I’m down with you. I’d have been beefing with everybody Suge would have been beefing with,” he added.

Boosie Badazz has made no secret of his love for 2Pac. Last November, he visited ‘Pac’s murder site in Las Vegas and paid tribute to the late rap icon with a short video.

“On the scene where ‘Pac got shot,” Boosie said in footage shared to his Instagram. “This where 2Pac got shot right here. Rest up, muthafucka. 2Pac got hit right here, the car pulled over right up there. ‘Pac, love that n-gga.”

Boosie also defended the All Eyez On Me rapper after T-Pain claimed his lyrics would not hold up among the current crop of MCs.

“Lyricism wise, ‘Pac would’ve got ridiculously murdered. Bro, ‘Pac was a crazy lyricist in our time because ain’t nobody else have no platform,” the “Buy U a Drank” singer argued during an interview with Akademiks.

“If the platforms would’ve been what they are now, ‘Pac would’ve been ate the fuck up,” the “Buy U A Drank” singer argued. “I’m just saying, what we look at as ‘Pac’s greatest lyrics right is peanuts to what we hear today.”

Boosie responded on X (formerly Twitter) by saying: “Why PAC still hittin n yo favorite lyricist Not? I don’t like when y’all shit on 2Pac. If he was living YALL wouldn’t step r talk about PAC n then death row n-ggas!

“2Pac was a great lyricist. U probably wouldn’t understand him if u never been through the struggles that this world brings! @TPAIN I disagree the lyrics n songs these days last a couple years n there gone because they don’t have meaning. The lyrics don’t touch your heart.”
