Boosie Badazz has responded to Sexyy Red’s claim that she’s the “modern day” version of him.

During an appearance on The Breakfast Club on Monday (November 13), the Baton Rouge rapper was asked for his thoughts on the “Pound Town” hitmaker’s comments, and welcomed the comparison with open arms.

“I feel like she gave me my flowers. I feel like she really gave me my flowers because Sexyy Red from the Lou,” he began, noting her St. Louis, Missouri roots. “I’ve been there in the Lou since… I’m talking about 20 years. The one people love and they respect his ratchetness.”

“They respect her ratchetness. I thought about it and I was like, ‘She kinda right!’ Because people respect my ratchetness. You might not like it, you might not like it, but you respect it,” he added, speaking directly to hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy.

He continued: “I’m not hiding something, I’m not trying to be somebody I’m not. I’m who I am and that’s what Sexyy Red is.”

Sexyy Red’s initial comments came last week when she took to X (formerly Twitter) and crowned herself the “modern day Boosie.”

She didn’t provide any additional explanation, but both rappers have enjoyed success with unapologetic songs like “Wipe Me Down” and “SkeeYee,” while also courting controversy for various comments and antics.

Sexyy Red has also been making headlines of late for clashing with with other artists — most notably Khia, who last month implored fans not to compare her to newer artists who she believes are shamelessly pushing a “hoe” lifestyle.

“I’m ’bout tired of y’all comparing me to these hoes. I said my neck, my back, my pussy, and my crack,” she said on an episode of her Gag Order podcast. “Not these n-ggas out here, these hoes out here… I still stood 10 toes down like a muthafuckin’ queen. Hair still wrapped like the first day.

“I ain’t changed a bit, okay. It’s respect me. It’s snatch the muthafuckin’ cat back. It’s don’t trust no muthafuckin’ n-gga. Get your own shit. It’s tell that n-gga to hit the muthafuckin’ door.”

Sexyy fired back by calling Khia “just another ol washed up [hoe] hating on a yung turnt rich [bitch].”

As for Boosie Badazz, he continues to make headlines for his outspoken Hip Hop commentary. Most recently, he weighed in on the arrest of Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the former Compton Crip charged with the 1996 murder of 2Pac.

“[I was] kind of [surprised], because [Keefe D] been talking about it,” Boosie said in an interview with VladTV. “And I thought, when he got busted or whatever, that he had immunity.
