Boosie Badazz has decided to get into the world of afrobeats, and after signing two new singers, he’s asked Davido to help him make a big splash in the genre.

On Tuesday (July 4), Boosie took to Twitter to call upon the American-Nigerian hitmaker, who just dropped off his fourth studio album Timeless back in March, to pause his current tour and help him out with his new Bad Azz Music Syndicate signees.

“@davido bro I need you to call me ASAP! I just signed the hottest DUO Afro beats artists, too hard! Get my number from @DaBabyDaBaby !! I NEED YOU!!” he wrote.

Davido would definitely be the right person to lend a helping hand to Boosie, especially since he’s collaborated with many American rappers in the past including Young Thug,Nicki Minaj, Gunna and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.

Boosie would be just the latest rapper to dive into Afrobeats. Snoop Dogg recently linked up with the popular international genre’s newest star CuhDeeJah for the new bouncy summertime single, “Bad Mama Jama.”

However, not everyone is on board with rap and Afrobeats fusing together. Lil Duval aired out the genre in February, and said it could lead to the “death of Hip Hop.”

“afrobeats might be the death of hip hop as we know it,” Duval began on Twitter – which was met with a lot pushback. He quickly followed up with another tweet to explain he wasn’t saying it as a diss.

“I wasn’t saying hip hop is over i said ‘hip hop as we know it’ meaning like evolved into something bigger,” he clarified. “Meaning giving afrobeats props. I don’t [know] how some took offense.”

RZA most notably pushed back on this claim in an interview with TMZ, noting that rap and Afrobeats are now one and the same.

“Afrobeat is Hip Hop,” the legendary producer told TMZ. “They basically are doing their form of Hip Hop. Just like Trap was Hip Hop, just like G-Funk was Hip Hop, it’s just their rendition. And you know what: they deserve a chance, just like the rest of us deserve a chance, of our music to be heard around the world, inspire and feed families.”

In other Boosie news, the Baton Rouge rapper is hard at work at trying to get back his Instagram account, and pleaded with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg this week to remove his ban from the platform.

“@zuck n ADAM can I get my officialboosieig Page back?” he wrote on Twitter. “I’ve been doing good n AINT been n no BS on ig. CAN U PUT ME BACK UP ? I’m tryin to get my motion back.”

The change in tone comes after the “Wipe Me Down” rapper previously targeted Zuckerberg for the ban, which came after Boosie posted a video of him slapping a man who disrespected him.

The video, which was a consensual preplanned stunt that ended with the man being gifted $554 dollars, not only resulted in the video being banned but Boosie’s account being suspended entirely. The rapper then accused Zuckerberg of being racist on Twitter, but it made no difference.
