Book About Detox, Mariah Carey & More to Be Released

Damion “Damizza” Young might not be the most known name to most music fans but he may change that with the release of his latest project, Guilty By Association, a book containing alleged details about why Detox has been delayed so many times and more about a secret love affair with Mariah Carey, one MC denies.

Young, a successful radio programmer and music producer, has made headlines for this book in the past, one he insists is not a tell-all. Still, he admits that he will tell more about the aforementioned topics, while adding information regarding how Jay-Z climbed the ranks to becoming Def Jam’s president and how he helped Janet Jackson save her relationship with other radio programmers.

“It’s the truth,” Damizza said in a statement. “When it comes to the music industry I know how deep the rabbit hole goes … and I’m taking fans along for the ride. But there’s a lot more to my story than introducing Mariah to Eminem … it’s the truth of why Dr. Dre’s Detox has been in limbo for more than a decade … it’s how Jay-Z became huge enough to run Def Jam Records … it’s how I salvaged Janet Jackson’s relationship with radio programmers all over the world. I’m letting loose on how records are made, promoted, leaked, paid off, corrupted, and careers and lives made and destroyed at the whims of ego and corporate corruption. I was there.”

Guilty By Association will be available through bookstores October 10, 2010.
