Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Reunion Album Could Happen If Dr. Dre Gets On Board

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony would get back together for new music immediately if Dr. Dre was involved, according to Layzie Bone.

The Bone Thugs member was a guest on The Digital Soapbox Network in an episode posted on Wednesday (July 5), where he discussed the topic of the group never getting on a Dre beat.

Despite their affiliation to the legendary producer through being signed to Eazy-E, he explained what prevented them from doing so in the past, and added that if Dre was to call right now then all five members would be right there.

“When the opportunity was presenting itself, we was internally fucked up,” Layzie Bone began. “And that n-gga Dre was like, ‘If I can’t have all five of y’all, I ain’t fucking wit y’all. And that was that. So hopefully one day hell get it. I know all of us individually tried. I mean, that’s Dre. Who don’t want a Dre beat? We all tried to go individually but the way the word got back to me was like, ‘Dre said if he can’t have all y’all, it’s no beat.”

At the suggestion Bone Thugs-N-Harmony get together with Dre now, Layzie said: “Wassup Dre? One call from Dre, watch how fast all five n-ggas get together. Let’s preach on that. I’ll drop everything I’m doing for an opportunity to work with Dr. Dre. I’m pretty sure my n-ggas feel the same way.”

The last time all five members did an album together was 2010’s Uni5: The World’s Enemy. While there have been other albums since, none of them had all of the members together. This would be the first one with all five in 13 years.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony rose to notoriety in the early ’90s after brokering a deal with Eazy-E and Ruthless Records. Their 1995 sophomore album and second project for Ruthless, E. 1999 Eternal, arrived just four months after Eazy-E’s death and sold over 300,000 copies in its opening week.

It remained at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks and has since been certified 4x platinum.

The group have gone through many issues in the years since and even as recently as 2022 were still arguing among the members.

On a song called “Bizzy Get’s Busy” that Bizzy Bone released in September, he called out the rest of his Bone Thugs brethren for excluding him from their recent tours.

Why this music sound so shitty?” he raps. “Why the fuck is Bone Thugs doing a show without Bizzy?/ Rest in peace to fam litty, n-ggas will shoot you in your city/ Why the fuck is Bone Thugs doing a show without Bizzy?/ I’ll say it again, you should be able to say what you want if they really your friends.”

He later walked back his tour “beef” and suggested it was simply for promo.

Krayzie Bone was asked about Bizzy’s absence on tour during an interview with VladTV months earlier after their epic Verzuz against Three 6 Mafia in December 2021.

Krazyie didn’t allude to any internal issues that would prevent Bizzy from being on the road with them, but he did say: “Bizzy got his reasons. I don’t know. I don’t have conversations with him about that kind of stuff. I let him do him. When he feel like coming and doing what he do, that’s what he do.”

Bone Thugs have played numerous shows over the years and Bizzy has been curiously missing. Fans have speculated it could be due to Bizzy’s unpredictable behavior.

    1. We’ll get the predictable and pointless Bone and Dre studio photo with over-rated, washed up womanizer Dre in his corny, played out White Air Force 1s but of course no music.

      1. Facts ! Respectfully though, what has Dre done in the last couple decades ? Definitely nothing memorable. Hope the album does happen though

    2. Where’s the Marsha Ambrosius album? Where’s Detox? And let’s forget about Snoops Missionary album from happening. All these fake topics to keep Dre’s “relevancy points” up so he could take these awards these past years is just straight industry politics.

    3. Would be dope but Dre just isn’t right for Bone as a producer, Bone already takes forever to put out music and Dre is the King of stuff being recorded and not released. It would be Rakim situation all over again.

    4. Bone was originally supposed to sign with Aftermath/Interscope in 2005 but Bizzy who said he was on board missed 3 straight meetings when the deal was about to be sealed. This made Kray, Lay, Wish step away from Bizzy professionally for years. But Interscope was still interested without Bizzy. So they end up signing to Full Surface/Interscope.

    5. Dre or no Dre, I don’t think anyone is checking for a Bone Thugs album. Loved them in the 90’s, but the time has come and gone. 99% of your fans are in their 40’s now, and the message probably doesn’t resonate the way it once did.

      1. I’m sorry you don’t understand. To help explain…. If a 10 slice pizza represented the fans of Bone Thugs N Harmony, then 9.9 of those slices are now 40-55 years old, and probably a bit too mature to still check for a rap group from the 90’s releasing new music about quija boards and mo-murda. Gangster rappers have a shelf life because their fans are primarily teenagers. When said teenagers grow up and no longer seek out gangster rap, said rapper doesn’t have a career. It’s why 50 went into TV.

    6. Another example of Layzie pushing the group in the wrong direction bro have paid attention to Dre in the last 20 year’s. Better off working with young hungry unknown producers. Let Krayzie make the decision.

    7. Unfortunately Dr. Dre took too much time away from the game. He messed up by trying to be too perfect with beats and now the music game has passed him by. Gotta stay relevant these days. Dre is almost 60 guys. His actions suggest he isn’t passionate about releasing new music. Not saying he shouldn’t make new music. I’m just saying do we really want new music from Dre? My answer is no.

      1. I would love to hear new production from Dre. Are you crazy? Relevant. What is going on in music these Days that Dre should take a back seat?

    8. no way in hell Dre is ever gonna work with these dudes, not at this point in their career and with all their infighting. it seems you can think Bizzy’s diva (and likely alcoholic) ways

    9. This overrated garbage ass group will reunite if s legend makes beats for them? Hey timberland. PM Dawn Will make another album, but only if you’re on bird to produce. SMH

    10. Music is their career. Let them.pursue their dreams while they still have voice n talent regardless if they’re relevant or not. They’re millionaires for a reason. Their fan base is probably mostly white n overseas anyway where they appreciate old school n underground hip hop even more.

    11. Dre doing a few tracks would be cool, but a whole album no thanks, unless it was Dre in his Chronic/Doggystyle days. BTNH need their original producers. Like DJ uneek and his producer partner.

    12. Dre doing a few tracks would be cool, but a whole album no thanks, unless it was Dre in his Chronic/Doggystyle days. BTNH need their original producers. Like DJ uneek and his producer partner.

    13. Dr. Dre on board? that means, it will never see a release.
horrible producer, if you’re too afraid to release music. LOL.
