Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Flooded With Fan Love At Street Name Unveiling Ceremony

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have been honored with their own street name in the iconic crew’s hometown of Cleveland.

Bizzy Bone and Krayzie Bone were in attendance on Friday (August 11) along with plenty of fans on Hip Hop’s 50th birthday, as East 99th Street officially became Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Way.

“We couldn’t have picked a better time outside of next year being 30 years for y’all,” a city councilmember said at the ceremony. “We are here to honor Bone Thugs-N-Harmony for putting Cleveland on the map. You can’t go nowhere in the U.S. and you say you from Cleveland, and people don’t talk about Bone.”

Fans surrounding the street corner cheered and gave the Ruthless Records crew a round of applause as the sign was changed to honor Bone Thugs.

“50 years of hip hop 30 years of @btnhlive Let’s Live,” Krayzie Bone captioned an Instagram post, while Flesh-N-Bone added: “Monumental! Eternal love from the Land!”

“What an incredible journey me and my guys been on for 30 years ! Today we made history on the birthday of hip hop congrats bone thugs!” the group’s manager Steve Lobel wrote on IG.

A fan saluted Bone Thugs for their accomplishment in Lobel’s comment section: “This is AMAZING.. Wish Eazy Could Of Lived To See This HUGE Accomplishment!! What a Visionary He Was To See The Talent In These Guys!!! Congrats To All!”

The accolade comes just over a year after fans created a petition for the signage as they claimed nothing in the city honored the legendary Bone Thugs.

Back in June, Cormega took some time out on Instagram to salute Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, dubbing them “one of the most unique rap groups ever.”

“Before Eazy E left this world he gave us a reminder of his savvy as a music executive. Bone Thugs N Harmony was and is one of the most unique rap groups ever,” Cormega captioned a photograph of the group minus Flesh.

“They harmonize like a choir while simultaneously lyrically staying aligned with rap group precision and verbally switching tempos perfectly.”
