Among HipHopDX‘s 2008 Awards [click to read], the self-titled project from Johnson & Jonson [click to read] was a runner-up for “Album Of The Year,” “Verse Of The Year” (“Hold On John”) [click to read], and won the award for “Most Slept On Album Of The Year.” With acclaim coming from other media outlets as well as fans, Blu, Mainframe and Tres Records have now opted to release the project’s instrumentals.
“Tres is proud to present the instrumentals for Johnson & Jonson. We wanted to highlight the project as an instrumental project. We appreciate the craftsmanship of diggin’ and sampling Blu and Mainframe provided,“ Tres founder Chikara Kurahashi told HipHopDX.
The August 4th iTunes release includes three never-before-heard instrumentals.
