Black Eyed Peas’ apl.de.ap Reveals That He’s Legally Blind, Rare Eye Disorder

Black Eyed Peas emcee and producer apl.de.ap recently revealed to People magazine that he’s legally blind. The 36 year-old Pamanga, Philippines native has reportedly been diagnosed with nystagmus. As a result, apl.de.ap’s vision is often blurry, a condition he said proved to be a challenge in the group’s extensive performing.

“I doubted myself for a long time… I’m comfortable not using my vision. I weave around my problems,” he told People.

Next month, the Black Eyed Peas will perform the Super Bowl halftime show in Dallas, Texas. The Los Angeles, California veteran act just released their latest album, The Beginning.
