Big K.R.I.T. “K.R.I.T. Wuz Here” Band Sessions Come To Vinyl Release

Meridian, Mississippi’s Big K.R.I.T. made one of 2010’s most celebrated mixtapes in K.R.I.T. Wuz Here , hosted by DJ Wally Sparks. The DXnext alum even pulled “Mixtape of the Year” in the 2010 HipHopDX Year End Awards. The mixtape continues to further the Cinematic/Def Jam Records rapper’s career, as four tracks from the mixtape, backed by a live band, come to limited edition vinyl.

Yourstru.ly, a new label, is releasing the The ‘Wuz Here’ Sessions to vinyl and digital formats. Recorded in San Francisco, California shortly after K.R.I.T. Wuz Here released, these four songs find the emcee backed by four-piece band Grillade. With full instrumentation on “The Intro,” “Neva Go Back,” “Something” and “Hometown Hero,” the project also features a copy of a handwritten letter from K.R.I.T. to his grandmother, hand-made artwork, and a donation to New Orleans-based TheRootsofMusic.com, providing instruments and funding to schools in need.

The sessions are available for listen and purchase here.

    1. KRIT is going to be one of the greatest artists of all time, he’s like, twenty three, twenty four and already is making music that is better than a lot of peoples albums. I’m going to buy all of his music and support real hip hop!
