Big Boi To Go Extreme Without Andre 3000

Coming off of the success of his Hip Hop meets ballet collaboration in ‘Big’ last month, Big Boi is preparing to release his debut album by the end of summer.

Tentatively titled Sir Luscious Left Foot…Son of Chico Dusty, the ATLien will go for self as he will release the album with minor contribution from longtime partner Andre 3000. Going the route of artists like The Roots, Big Boi told Billboard he planned on recording an album dealing with current issues affecting the masses.

“This album is Big Boi to the extreme. It’s like a recession special. I’m talking about what’s going on in the world, with everything from rising gas prices to the election. It’s just my insights on life up to this point,” he said.

While albums have been receiving early release dates and then being pushed back, Big Boi has set a realistic date towards the final weeks of summer.

“I’m shooting to finish the album by the end of August,” he confirmed.

The current single, “Royal Flush”, features Andre 3000 and Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon, however the upcoming music video by director Bryan Barber may not include Andre due to a scheduling conflict, according to Billboard. Set to follow-up the single will be “The World is Too Big” featuring Mary J. Blige.
