Although it may be a distant memory, some may recall Solange Knowles, Beyonce‘s little sister, had a musical career of her own. Back in 2004, Solange released her debut, Solo Star. After having a child, taking a brief hiatus and settling down away from the spotlight, Solange is back.
Solange is now in Los Angeles, recording music for her next album, according to Billboard. The next album is reportedly titled Hadley Street Dreams, and will be released through Geffen.
Geffen Chairman Ron Fair recently spoke about the upcoming LP.
“Her record is totally bananas,” he told Billboard “It’s not what people would expect from her. The music is more eclectic and international. She’s in her own lane.”
Fair went on to compare Solange with some musical greats.
“It’s a touch of retro with beautiful R&B songs and influences of early Natalie Cole and Carole King, and she’s only 21. . . .I’m crazy about the Pharrell Williams’ record that she recently finished, called ‘I Decided.’ We’re finishing the album now.”
Expect this album, Hadley Street Dreams, to be released some time in 2008. No finalized release date has been given as of yet. For those wondering.
