His lengthy statement was accompanied by a touching visual tribute to her, which included footage of them spending time together over the years with his song “Light of My Soul” playing over it.

“I’m sorry to announce that I will be postponing my UK/EU tour until later this year,” the 36-year-old wrote. “The only reason I was able to complete the US leg was because of my incredible family, support system, and the wishes of my ailing mother. “I want to sincerely thank everyone who came to a show, I didn’t realize those 75 mins on stage would be the saving grace during the darkest period my life. Every night I left that stage feeling infinitely better than when I stepped on.

“My pre show routine consisted of wiping away the tears, and navigating immense guilt. Everyday I wanted to leave and be by her side. I simply cannot fathom being thousands of miles away at this time.”
