His lengthy statement was accompanied by a touching visual tribute to his mother, which included footage of them spending time together over the years and soundtracked by his song “Light of My Soul.”
“I’m sorry to announce that I will be postponing my UK/EU tour until later this year,” Bas wrote. “The only reason I was able to complete the US leg was because of my incredible family, support system, and the wishes of my ailing mother. She insisted that I ‘honor my fans.’ Even as she needed me most.

“I want to sincerely thank everyone who came to a show, I didn’t realize those 75 mins on stage would be the saving grace during the darkest period my life. Every night I left that stage feeling infinitely better than when I stepped on.
“My pre show routine consisted of wiping away the tears, and navigating immense guilt. Everyday I wanted to leave and be by her side. I simply cannot fathom being thousands of miles away at this time.”

He continued: “Watching my super woman lose her super powers has been the most soul crushing pain I’ve ever had to endure.
“Still we say alhamdulilah and thank God for our beautiful family as we come together to nurse our matriarch back to health. Please do keep her in your prayers. I thank you for understanding, and I hope to see you soon.”
The European leg of Bas’ We Only Talk About Real Shit When We’re Fucked Up Tour, which is in support of his album of the same name, was due to run from June 30 to July 19 with shows in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands, among other countries.
The run of North American dates recently concluded at New York City’s Irving Plaza, and it was during this final show that he brought out J. Cole, fresh off his Kendrick Lamar diss song and subsequent apology.

Adding to the scrutiny over his controversial U-turn, Cole forgot the lyrics to his verse on Bas’ 2018 hit “Tribe” during his surprise appearance.
“Y’all go ahead and help me out,” he said while looking to Bas and the crowd to give him a helping hand.
Fans were quick to react to the viral moment, with some jokingly blaming the mishap on the uproar over his aforementioned apology.
“Delete this bro idk how much more I can take,” one fan wrote.
