B.o.B. Explains His True Feelings About The OFWGKTA Diss

When Odd Future leader Tyler, The Creator released “Yonkers”, the first single from his forthcoming album Goblin, he did what he has done many times before: fire shots at some very visible and successful targets. But this time Tyler’s lyrical barbs offended someone enough for them to respond.

With the line, “I’ll crash that fucking airplane that that f—-t n—a Bob is in,” (which referred to B.o.B.’s hit single “Airplanes”) the young California rapper appeared to really get under B.o.B.’s skin. It even provoked Bob to release a diss track in response, “No Future.” But now B.o.B. seems to have cooled off a bit and is taking the Tyler line in stride and chalking it up to being part of a long Hip Hop tradition.

The Atlanta rapper spoke with The Source and explained, “When I initially heard the line I felt like it was some emcee shit. Honestly, there’s a side of me that’s an artist that’s like, “What? You saying my name?” But when you understand the element of it, you understand what the emcee mentality is. I felt like some people perceived it as a shot but I felt like people love to hate. When he said the line my fans weren’t coming at me like, “Bob he’s dissin’ you, he’s dissin’ you!” I feel like you can take it and make whatever you want to make out of it. I don’t harbor any negative emotion at all. And I feel like with Hip Hop now even if something is competitive, as long as it stays productive, and it’s raising the bar for Hip Hop music, there’s nothing wrong with that.”

    1. Of course his fans didnt say anything about the line…His fans are pop fans and generally dont listen to anything other than whats on the tv/radio. So the chances of his fans actually hearing the Tyler song are 0 percent.

      1. there was an article a few weeks ago about how tyler gave bob props for the diss track on twitter only makes sense bob respond in the same way

    2. i don’t even normally like him, but b.o.b still shit on them with one song. twice.

tyler is just saying shit to get attention, at least b.o.b has some meaning behind his tracks.

    3. Tyler is following 50 Cent’s golden rule of gaining attention, leeching onto someone already successful and dissing them to get attention. I listen to mainstream, I listen to underground, but I never heard of Odd Future until they dissed Wiz Khalifa when he was performing, then the B.o.B. response song came out and I started learning more about Odd Future. They’re leeches. About two weeks after B.o.B. dissed them, I saw an article on Rap-Up that stated “The race is on to sign Odd Future to a major label”.

Now, I’m gonna be a dickhead about this.

I’m gonna start rapping and keep it local. Will anyone hear about me? Most likely not. Should I diss Jay-Z, Nas, and Eminem and would that get me more attention? Yes. It would. Because then I’d become a leech, using someone else’s success to gain more attention.

Hip hop should have a new golden rule: Make your own name, don’t bring up someone else’s.

      1. i see youre point, but tyler has said many times he’s tried to make it big. nobody wants to be that artist that stays underground forever with no shine whatsoever but it happens. the only song where tyler disses anyone really is yonkers, which was written after they started getting coverage. so they really are getting attention by doing their own thing

      2. Thank you for seeing where I am coming from. But I disagree that they are still leeching onto someone else. If Odd Future had a popularity tracker, it would be a low number, but by the time they dissed B.o.B, it had to have increased by 150%. They are still leeches using someone else to gain popularity.

      3. The B.O.B. diss is not what made people aware of Odd Future. The biggest ice breaker for Odd Future was when they absolutly killed it when they performed on Jimmy Fallon’s late night show and then Kanye tweeted that Yonkers was the best video of the year.

    4. Odd Future will be remembered, for better or for worse – B.o.b won’t. He makes generic pop rap for teenie boppers, even though he is talented

B.o.b is the defintion of a sell out and now he’s talking about raising the bar of hip-hop music. c’mon son. that little album of his lowered the bar like mother fuck

    5. i use to bump B O B but after i heard OF’s shit its pretty obvious that nigga a fuckin pussy ass bitch yo fuck wit cha boy

    6. DAMN!!!!!!!!! Why the hell are people afraid to diss now? There’s nothing wrong with a little competition, shit. I haven’t heard one relevant diss tirade since the LOX killed G-Unit that one time, and the Royce da 5’9″ disses on those Young Money bitches, but they were to scared to respond. It’s all in good fun and competition.

    7. I prefer Tyler, i think he’s much better, every1 tries to get noticed when dissing a star its the way 4word i mean look at 50cent and rhyme fest, some people take the high road and live un recognised other get noticed like Tyler! looking forword to the “goblin” album

    8. All i have to say is B.O.B. is a pussy bitch rapper and Tyler is an MC. Tyler has 10x more potential and skill in his middle finger than bob ever will have.

OFWGKTA is the new school of hip-hop..all you haters get fuckin used to it

    9. That chode shouldn’t have even mentioned B.o.B’s name in a song. He isn’t even close to B.o.B’s level of music. The creator says “fuck” more than a slut in a porno and that alone makes him look like an ignorant, suicidal piece of shit.

      1. Tyler the Creator is way more talented musically than B.o.B.

B.o.B’s most popular songs were throwaway songs from Lupe’s Lasers.

Tyler writes his music with no samples and along with his collective put out several full LP’s and was nice enough to make them free.

Bastard shits all over The Adventures of Bobby Ray.

      2. Yes Tyler the Creator is very musically talented. He knows music. That shouldnt even be a question. Just because the kid is takin a different route to expose himself doesnt make him any worse than BOB. Both of the dudes are talented in their own ways but i feel tyler is bringing a very new element to hip-hop. He is pushing the bar up and “40 year olds talkin bout gucci” gotta step their game up.

        Side note: tyler uses samples

    10. WTF are ya niggas talkin about B.o.B killed that nigga tyler in that diss even tyler the creator him self like that shit wtf are ya on his dick so much did ya hear his diss at all smh ya niggas hop on’s for real how a nigga gonna say they used to bump B.o.B but then say he dont anymore because of one line just kill yourself u dont know hip hop at all

    11. uhhh NO! BOB didnt kill any1 bruh…dat nigga a weak MC i dont give a fuck if tyler himself said he liked it cuz im not a fuckin dick rider and I DONT LIKE BOB CUZ HE’S A WEAK ASS MC…period…..until tyler disses him and THAN BOB responds we’ll see what BOB is really made of….dat yonkers wasnt a diss he just shitted on him real quick….if tyler makes an actual diss track than we talkin action til than fuck BOB and his feelings and fuck any rap nigga dat cant MC….

    12. I’d take 2 fingers and smear skunk doo-doo below this both nigga’s eyes like war paint.

    13. I’ll thrust my whole head up this nigga’s butthole until I fit my head through his mouth. I’d peak my head out his mouth and say “Yo where da party at?”

    14. Ain’t no doubt in my mind that this nigga walks around his home butt naked singin bruno mars verse on “nothing on you”

    15. When he’s taking a dump, I bet you that when he wipes his crack the first time, he looks at the toilet paper before he flushes the toilet

      1. yo… dis nigga here goin in on B.o.B haha, I co-sign dis shit here lol and yo music is str8 homie.. fuck da haters, GOLF WANG!

    16. B.o.B is one of the most talented rappers in the group. People don’t like him because he made mainstream songs with Bruno Mars, Hayley Williams and the Weezer dude. They believe Hip Hop has to be having beef or having 5 Percenter beliefs. Guys like Tyler The Creator and Hopsin (another lame rapper who dissed other rappers for “publicity”) have no future. Those guys will be gone in a year. Guys like B.o.B, Drake or Wiz will have at least a couple singles that will be remembered.

      1. I like B.o.B, never listened to Tyler the Creator, but how can you say Hopsin is lame and then turn around and say Wiz is a true Hip-hop artist? I just don’t understand

      2. I never said Wiz was real hip-hop. There is no such thing as “real hip-hop”. Just cuz you don’t like the state of hip-hop now doesn’t mean it isn’t hip-hop. I just said that in a few years, people will remember Wiz Khalifa for his Black And Yellow single while Hopsin will be only be remembered by very few people. Why else do you think 2pac and Biggie are remembered to be the best? They had albums and singles people remember even though they weren’t lyrically the best.

      3. realtalk stfu…their is such a thing as real hiphop ur just a faggot dat listens to wack shit,n is tryin to excuse his shitty music taste by trin to call every wack shit out their hiphop

      4. Drake has probs made 1 timeless song and wiz has hardly had any. Hopsin I’ll admit has made a multitude of timeless music so don’t give me that crap. B.O.B is talented I give you that but then that song with hayley, although good, it isn’t timless, yes the’ll be remembered for those songs but its not much of a legacy if those songs can’t maintain that magic. For example Lupe is one my favs, I loved that superstar song but now it doesn’t have that same magic timeless music does and I don’t prefer listening to that song any more.

      5. have you even ever listened to ofwgkta… they kill every track. you can go ahead and listen to your gay b.o.b and wiz. just because their song is popular doesn’t mean it’s good…

      1. With that pic you had to be talking sarcastically or ironically right? My lcd screen started getting limp wristed just from displaying you.

    17. Um, what? thats not how to conduct a proper beef! both these dudes are complete trash on the mic. you said your lyrical opponent was “raising the bar for hip hop”. i dont think pop ass B.o.B. is qualified to speak on hip hop at all. garbage.

    18. i really don’t see anything special in both. That one song tyler the creator has playing isn’t even good, B.o.b been played to death by radio and startng beef in hip hop today is a sign of desperation that puts you on 50 cent and Rick ross level.
