AZ Updates On “Doe Or Die 2,” Speaks On Nas Collaboration

This past August, Nas tweeted a photo of him and AZ together in the studio, fueling speculation that the two could be working on his upcoming album Life is Good. Speaking with Montreality, AZ said that the two weren’t recording for any specific project, but that it’s possible for the tracks to end up on future albums.

“He just working. Something might come out of it, you know how it go, you know? We politicin’,” he said.

AZ is also currently working on his upcoming album Doe or Die 2. The Firm member revealed that the project is still being recorded, but that he hopes to drop the LP in the second quarter of 2012.

“I’m trying to put that Doe or Die 2 together, get that done. Hopefully I’ll have that out second quarter of the year, 2012,” he said.

    1. two years later, no status. prob cause producers he wants to work with are charging a mint. i’m tired of these producer ego’s, esp when they are a big reason the mainstream game is sufering right not. you only get two beats now: bmf soundalike or some drake stuff.

    2. same here i like AZ slightly more. most underrated east coast MC ever. hes got like 12 albums and still no one knows him lol.

    3. My favorite rapper of all time. Got anything and everything he’s dropped.
And AZ already told XXL nas is on his album 100%. And nas told rollingstone that AZ is on his new album

      So 2012
I already know 2 LP’s that will be on the 2012 top 25 CDs of the year

      SOSA!!! I see you Brooklyn

    4. Good to see my man AZ still looking to drop DOD2.

Been a while, he’s been talking about it for coming up to 3 years now so I hope he jumps on it soon.

    5. Compared to everything else this to me has to be some of the best hip hop news Doe or Die was a hip hop classic and stood the test of time if AZ can do the same thing that Raekwon did with OB4CL2 and just try to recreate that same formula then I’m more than looking forward to Doe or Die 2

    6. Big time producers won’t flock to this. AZ is a hustler, but he’d do better to make and release a string of smaller albums as opposed to waiting years to drop a sequel to an album most don’t remember.

    7. AZ = better rapper
      NaS = better catalog
Both are top 10 of all time legends. I can’t wait for DoD2 and Life is Good.

    8. hopefully the trolls stay off this story…AZ and Nas two of the best to ever touch the mic, I don’t give a fuck what you say

    9. Every album that comes out now is a ‘sequel’ to one of their prior albums. I don’t really understand the point of that. Is it that hard to come up with an album title?

      1. Marketing. Everybody wants that brand recognition. same reasoning behind so many movies being based off something else or being a sequel.

      2. i think its just that niggas want to put pressure on themselves to dig deep and push something out equivalent to or better than their claims to fame in hopes of being showered with praise once more.

    10. AZ is nice, but saying he’s better than esco is a stretch. Everyones entitled to their opinion but come on now. off the top of my head aziatic is his only true classic.

    11. I mean hes good but yall overblown dude a bit with these comments..goat really? Nas is insanely over rated to so they make a great pair lol. Sorry but illmatics nas’s only great album ever..and it had like 10 songs lol..

      1. ehem….did u say illmatic was the ONLY good album nas ever created? so it was written, lost tapes and stillmatic are wack? GTFOH LOL and if both nas and az are overrated then name us a better rapper with more classic songs/albums than both nas & az put together

    13. niggas need to stop underrating Nas.

there is a reason why nas is still getting the spotlight while AZ is unknown in todays rap world.

    14. you people talking about the time it’s taking..

do you know it takes time to create music right? like actual music? not the generic bullshit that’s flooding around.

like jon connor says “shit’s not a problem, till the toilet can’t flush”

      lol

but on the real, do you think ANYONE that can write AZ caliber rhymes should put out music every week? YOU’d be stupid to say yes. you need time to digest this man’s music. his words are unparallelled to anyone else, THE BEST.

with that being said. he’s been in the game for over 16 years, he has so many classic rhymes if he never wrote another thing, and just had his a Capella’s to new beats and arrangements, the public would go nuts if he was a new artist. All i mean by that is, these new kids if the artist is like 31 years old and + they just dog shit on..

but AZ is not a hater, he know he gets respect from the real.

      DOD2: Let’s get it in

    15. ”Some lost sheep, runnin thru strips, thinkin of top dealers
Fillin Tek clips, wit ‘cop killers’ that could stop gorillas”

      AZ is unreal.

    16. People in thread giving Sosa alot of Neck I see, lol, Ya’ll reaching with this “Better then Nas” “His Lyrics are so deep it takes years to digest them” bullshit, lol, fuck outta here

I’m a fan tho, definatly looking forward to this, anybody know which producers he’s looking to fuck with??
