AZ is back with new material.
That’s enough to have most long time A
followers lining up for the new LP. But now, he’s come with a partner to assist
behind the boards. His first single/video “The Format” has
already hit and the instrumentation set by the always creatively
consistent DJ Premier.
The video features AZ spitting over vintage
Premier. It flashes images of fallen MCs such as Pun and
Pac, while keeping focus on AZ in front of colorful backgrounds.
“It’s obvious that I’m real. Rap skills remain//I
took a little change but I’m still the same,” he assures over the Primo
beat.
The album The Format is said to feature more
production from Emile, Face Defeat and others. A DVD should be
available along with the LP, which will feature a display of A’s
live show, as well as some vintage AZ videos.
The Format is currently scheduled to hit stores in
early November.
