According to the Associated Press, prosecutors withdrew auto-theft charges against Beanie Sigel yesterday, October 18th.
As previously reported, Beans rented a 2007 Nissan Altima from Payless Car Rental in Philadelphia, but failed to return the car on time. The car was then reported stolen on September 6, and returned by one of the rapper’s associates on October 5.
In that time, the charges for the car accumulated to $5,000, and detectives had gone to the rappers home to arrest him. Beans reportedly hadn’t been to the home in months.
“Apparently there was some misunderstanding over when it was to be
returned or whether or not payment was continuing to be made,” said Beans’ attorney Fortunato Perri when the incident first gained media attention.
Since that time, the rapper has come to an agreement with the rental company; all charges were dropped, and all fees have been paid.
