Slug and Ant changed music for me. Before ‘godlovesugly’ and ‘sevens travels’ I was stuck with the mainstream, Eminem and Dr Dre were my go tos. They were my shit, straight bangers to vibe to but lacking a connection. Then I heard God loves ugly; changed my life. I wrote my very first song right after playing godlovesugly on repeat over and over picking up the cadence and the right tone. With Slug and Ant, you get pure unadulterated hip hop honesty. Slug puts it all out there and has done so since the beggining. They brought some of my favorite emcees (brother Ali,I self Devine,eyedea) to the forefront and blazed the way for so many others. It would truly be an honor to see them live with such an insanely dope lineup. If anything this post aims to give props for still killin it I mean that new track with DOOM, straight fire. So I really hope I get a chance to see Slug I’d give that man “a pound or a hug”. Thanks hiphopdx!
On September 24th I will be exactly 16 weeks pregnant. That is about the time a fetus starts to develop the ability to hear noises from the outside world. I would love nothing more than for my baby’s “first show” to be Atmosphere and Aesop Rock. Coolest future mom award?

I am going to “the world has no Eyedea” film screening at Los Globos tomorrow night. Eyedea has been my favorite MC ever since the scribble jam battles. and not seeing him live sucks. slug might be the closest thing to Eyedea since slug brought him on tour and so seeing atmosphere live is like seeing a part of Mikey on stage with Slug. winning this would be fucking great.

I’ve been a huge fan of Rhymesayers since I was in middle school and would love to win these tickets!!! I’m currently broke and would love to take my boyfriend to the show since he hasn’t seen many of his favorite artists live. I’ve seen Atmos & Aesop Rock before so I know the amazing feeling of being in front of some of your favorite people who’ve gotten you through hard times. I want to be able give that experience to my bf who gives me so much.

The real rhymesayers are by far the most inspirational lyrical geniuses I’ve encountered in my life. I’ve been listening to atmosphere, dilated peoples, evidence, eyedea and abilities, Aesop Rock, grieves, prof, sadistik, and brother Ali for years and years. I’ve encountered so many life changing songs and inspiration through all of these artists music. All these artists always speak the realist lyrics and statements including stands on the injustices of the world, intense emotions and expierances and basically something that any one can relate too. Atmosphere has a song called “the waitress”. I took a creative writing class about a year ago at cal state northridge and I based a creative fictional story based off of that song. Yes I made it aware I was basing the story off of a song but I went into much detail of what I envisioned atmosphere was trying to say I’m the 4 minute song. I ended up creating one of my most proud pieces of work. Anyways I saw atmosphere perform in 2013 in San Diego with slightly stooped and it was the most incredible experience of my life. It’s been over 3 years and I’m a struggling broke college student dying to see atmosphere again and also have the opportunity to see dilated peoples brother Ali and Aesop Rock for the first time. This would be the most incredible opportunity and I’d love it if I won these tickets

I have been listening to Atmosphere since elementary school and they were the first rap group I fell in love with. My first slug verse that got stuck in my head was “I should close all the schools just to see the kids smile” which spoke to me because I hated school. Slug was always my favorite mc and rhymesayers has a lot of talented artists on there roster. I should win tickets because I’ve never seen slug perform live and this would mean the world to me.

Dilated Peoples, Brother Ali, and Atmosphere?! This show sounds too damn good to be true!! I would LOVE to go but I’m unfortunately a full time student working a part time job who barely makes it by with the bills. This would be a absolute dream to go to and an unforgettable experience that would turn my year around !!
