Indie sensation Atmosphere have been getting more recognition as of late. After an And 1 shoe commercial and a spot in SXSW, the crew is taking on television sets. Emcee Slug and company will hit the stage for Jimmy Kimmel Live April 26.
Maybe due to all this, the ex Sad Clown has been re-dubbed in his recent Happy Clown, Bad Dub series of limited edition CDs. The latest installment is Part VIII: The Fun EP which features various bonus cuts. The EP also contains remixed versions of Say Hey There and Panic Attack from Atmosphere’s most recent LP, You Can’t Imagine How Much Fun We’re Having.
On another note, Mr. X to the Z, Xzibit had an exclusive interview on his own MySpace page. The emcee/host says he found MySpace gives him a direct connection to the fans.
He even opened up about his collaborations with Ras Kass and other friends/colaborators.
”You never know who’s going to show up on my LP” he said of his new album.
X also spoke up about the LA underground scene where acts such as Pigeon John, Black Eyed Peas, Murs and X came from. He said he is happy that the Hyphe Movement is taking the country by storm and gave props to Keak.
”I come from the era of Hip-Hop where it was a balance,” he said when asked about recent Hip-Hop and new artists coming out. ”Hopefully the cats that follow me…do not necessarily conform to what’s selling. It’s going to be a new age of Hip-Hop.”
