Drink Champs is apparently turning into Smoke Champs. The popular REVOLT series, hosted by N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, welcomes their guests with not only a buffet of liquor but also smokeable treats. The idea is to loosen their guests ups and get them talking – and it typically works (sometimes a little too well).
But some of their guests don’t seem like the type to indulge. When Kanye West did the show in November, people were shocked to see him pick up a blunt. And the same goes for Alicia Keys, who was one of Drink Champs’ most recent guests.
The show became a trending Twitter topic on Saturday (December 11) when a clip of the veteran chanteuse sparking up a blunt started to make the rounds. Many people were in awe of Keys’ willingness to light up on camera, while others weren’t surprised at all. As one person wrote, “Alicia Keys on Drink Champs throwing back shots and smoking like I already knew she did.”
Unsurprisingly, Alicia Keys was in good spirits throughout the interview. At one point, she rattled off who she’d like to collaborate with — dead or alive — which included Kurt Cobain, Marvin Gaye and Nina Simone.
She also looked back on the infamous 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when Lil Mama crashed her performance of “Empire State of Mind” with JAY-Z. The Roc-A-Fella mogul was furious by the intrusion, but Keys claimed she didn’t even notice her.

“The truth of all the truths — all I know, we was on that stage,” she said. “Jay was here, I was here. In my head, I was such a gorilla at the time and I was like, ‘This is what’s happening. I’m going to destroy this record tonight.’ … Somehow, however she got over here, I didn’t even bear witness to.
“The whole show I was iced — so focused on making it amazing. I went backstage and Jay was like, ‘So, you ain’t see that?’ And I was like, ‘What?’ And he was like, ‘Nah, you ain’t just see what just happened?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, we killed it. That’s what happened.’”
Despite the many gems Keys dropped during the interview, fans couldn’t stop talking about her weed consumption.
