Akon is threatening legal action against Suge Knight, who recently accused the Grammy-nominated artist of raping an underage teenage girl.

On Thursday (November 2), the “Lonely” hitmaker spoke to TMZ about the allegations and clearly stated that they’re untrue and slanderous.

“I need to make it very clear that I absolutely deny these outrageous, false and disgusting claims Suge Knight made on his podcast about me,” he said. “I’ve never called, received, or had any contact with Suge Knight since he has been incarcerated. My voice you heard on his podcast was as a soundbite previously recorded from an interview I did with DJ Vlad three years ago regarding Suge Knight in 2009.”

He added: “I’ve never been a guest on Suge Knight’s podcast. I always believe in building positivity into the world and my actions and legacy have spoken to that. It’s unfortunate that I have to defend myself from these lies and I will be involving my legal team in filing a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Knight, my prayers for him will still continue.”

In late October, the Death Row Records co-founder launched his new Collect Call podcast from prison as he serves out his 28-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter. During the debut episode, Knight claimed that Akon and his longtime producer, Detail, sexually assaulted the 13-year-old sister of one of his associates as well as her 12-year-old friend.

Taking to Twitter soon after the segment went live, the singer addressed the story and called it a “lie.”

“The world knows a lie when they hear it,” he wrote. “It’s unfortunate that this man is going out like this. It’s sad and seriously embarrassing. Regardless of our history, I’m still going to be praying for him,” he added, referencing their past beef.”

Suge Knight broke down the alleged incident in detail, claiming it happened in a hotel room.

“I wasn’t going to bring it up,” Suge began. “[But] one of my homegirls, she was a hustler. She had a little sister, 13 years old. And her best friend was 12 years old. She’s in the car with him. You and Detail call her [Suge’s homegirl].

“And she said, ‘I got my little sister and her best friend with me.’ I said, ‘Well, then stop by for a second.’ She go by y’all hotel, in y’all room, and she gets a call. It was the dudes she met at the hotel when she was coming to see you muthafuckas.

“He said, ‘Come by, just for 20 minutes.’ [And she said] ‘I can’t do it right now, I gotta take my little sister home, with her friend. I’ll be back in about an hour.’ He said, ‘Come by in 20 minutes, I got a big payday for you.’ You, Akon, said, ‘Go ahead. You can leave your little sister and her friend right here. We can order them something to eat.’”

He continued: “She goes to the next room … she says she comes back in about 35 minutes. When she gets back in the room, her little sister and that other little girl don’t wanna eat.

“They look scared. And they’re crying. When she gets back in the car with them, they tell her, ‘Akon, you fucked the little girl, 13 — Detail fucked the little girl, 12 years old. Y’all raped them.’

“So when she told me, I pulled up on her, and she said she’s going to the police to put you muthafuckas in jail for rape. I said, ‘Nah, we don’t do that, telling to the police. I’ll deal with it. I promise you that.’ So I was trying to catch you muthafuckas about that situation.”

During an interview with VladTV in 2020, Akon claimed that his feud with Suge Knight actually stemmed from a financial dispute.
