Action Bronson Is A Shell Of His Former Self In New ‘Men’s Health’ Feature

Action Bronson is a rapper, yes, but he’s built an entire empire on a foundation of cooking. The Fuck, That’s Delicious host, cookbook author and former gourmet chef clearly loves food, but his indulgent lifestyle was starting to wreak havoc on his health.

At nearly 400 pounds and only 5’9″ tall, he was in desperate need of a change, so he took the bull by the horns and embarked on a fitness journey in March. In a new feature for Men’s Health, Bronson opened up about his love affair with food and revealed how he lost over 125 pounds in under 12 months.

“This journey started way long ago,” he says. “I was born heavy. I was a heavy child. This transformation was long overdue. There was a lot of shit like pre-diabetes, eczema, asthma, all kinds of fucking dumb stuff that I had given myself.”

He also admitted he struggled with portion control, saying, “If I made something that was a big, round dish, I would eat the big, round dish. I wouldn’t just have one piece.”

But when Bronson’s son was born in 2019, he knew it was time to take his health seriously.

“You always want to be around for your family,” he said. “It wasn’t going to happen unless I made that decision myself, and, you know, it takes some soul-searching and some shit to really bother you. Like something that really gets under your skin to make that change. That happened to me.”

Now, Bronson’s daily routine looks a lot different than in the past. He wakes up at 4 a.m. and slams a protein shake then eats a breakfast of two eggs, three egg whites, one piece of sprouted rye bread and an avocado. Then he hops in his car and makes the 30-minute trip to Norwood, New Jersey where he boxes for 45 minutes at Impact Zone Fitness.

After that, he links with trainer Dave Paladi for an intense sweat session. Most importantly, he had to change his relationship with food. Although he says he’s a “boring eater” now, he’s also fascinated with nutrition and learning different ways to eat.

    1. This pig’s issue is not only that he’s obese, but also completely jacking GFK’s style and rhyming on cheap, watered down, drumless Alchemist beats.

      1. you sound like a watered down hater. mans talking bout getting healthy and bettering himself, and you stuck on his flow and sound. fuckin weirdo. worry bout yourself and the souljaboy music in your headphones fuckboy.

        1. Hell NAW not Soulja Girl!! I’m more of a Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and Ariana Grande fan! BABY BABY BABY OOOO.. Teeheeeheeee

      2. So, you decide to hate on him as hes shedding literally hundreds of pounds? Makes no sense. Also man, the GFK comparisons are so old, like over a decade, Bronson has done more than enough to establish himself as a great artist in his own right. STFU.

    2. That’s what’s up Bron…still havent listened to the whole album but the shit was sounding pretty good…continue on ya health journey….still wanna see that Ghostface versuz though

      1. GFK’s not gna battle him, the entire Wu Tang Clan already confronted him some years ago and fat boy Bronson kept his mouth shut.

        1. Didnt know about that 1…I remember when Papa Wu (rip) approached him at Sean Price’s(rip) wake but that was nothing…lol…”the entire Wu Tang Clan”?? I missed that one…still wanna see that 1

    3. Its defo great for him that he’s slimming down and I hope he keeps it up.

But when he was mega fucking fat with a huge beard he was very distinctive, like a larger than life character. That was his look and style. Couldn’t miss him. With the weight loss and shave he doesn’t stand out anymore.

      1. How do you know? He hasn’t done anything since his weight loss. Bronson is a great personality and talent, it’s not just down to his weight.
