A$AP Ferg Takes To Twitter To Clarify Remarks About Racism

A$AP Ferg has recently been facing flack over recent comments he made about racism and the Internet.

In a recent interview with NPR’s Microphone Check the A$AP Mob member claimed that the Internet merges everything and that racism was dissolved “generations ago.”

“That’s what it is about this culture of the Internet. Is everything is merged,” he said. “There’s no racism with the Internet. Racism is probably like five generations ago… Racism been over. It’s the old people that keep on holding on to it. We don’t hold on to that shit. We don’t know racism… My little brother had white girlfriends. And that’s regular.”

Now, A$AP Ferg is backtracking a little bit and says racism is still alive but not to the extent it was back in the day.

“Just to be clear, I am fully aware racism still exists,” he relayed via a Twitter post. “The point I was trying to make that within the group of like-minded, progressive thinking people that I interact with, racism and separatism doesn’t exist to the extent that it did generations ago.”

    1. Black people who say racism doesn’t exist are in some extreme denial or they are just really uneducated. Obviously you won’t deal with racist people in your circle of friends. What is he trying to say? “The people I deal with aren’t racist, so racism doesn’t exist like it used to?” FOH dumb ass

      1. I agree with you 100%, I have met people everyday of my life where I work as a coder for a dating site and when it comes to race, many almost over 75% of people say they are open to dating any race but black even though they have many black friends in their lives. I get you can have a preference but why be so against one particular race?

      2. ^^ lol I was just on Match.com yesterday browsing through the profiles and I noticed that. People on there will be like I want to date White, Asian, Native American, Latino, Alien, Cyborg, but not black people. But yet in real life they smile in our faces and do fake marches like they care.

      3. “say they are open to dating any race but black” < Um, so? Its preference. Some people just dont find the black women they have seen as attractive. Doesnt necessarily mean its racist. Racism is defined as believing someone is less important or deserves less because of race. But if someone doesnt want to date black women, that does NOT make them racist. it depends on the REASON. If its simply "i dont find the ones I have met attractive", then thats entirely reasonable. Stop looking for racism where it doesnt exist.

    2. why are the top five hip hop albums before 1996 :jordanlaff: what is wrong with these people. Do they not understand things are supposed to improve. LOL. What a stupid fk.

    3. I love when people make stupid comments on social media thinking they are being intellectual and come out sounding completely stupid, then have to have their PR “team” come up with a response to fix it. dumbass’s

    4. he should take to twitter to clarify how his whole crew was denying yams OD’ed on drugs and now the truth has come out that yams OD’ed on drugs.

    5. He should have just said he has never experienced racism and/or there is no racism in his inner circle because people around him date outside their race. He came back and clarified what he meant but people still having a heart attack about it. Why the fuck does what this mediocre rapper have to say even matter any damn ways?
