Aaliyah: Princess of R&B, the Lifetime channel’s biopic on the late R&B singer, will be premiere on the network November 15, according to a tweet from the channel’s verified twitter account.
Alexander Shipp will portray the singer, who died in a plane crash in 2001.
Chattrisse Dolabaille and Izaak Smith are slated to portray Missy Elliott and Timbaland, respectively.
The film, which is also set to cover the singer’s marriage to R. Kelly, is reportedly based on Christopher Farley’s book Aaliyah: More Than A Woman.
