Aaliyah‘s brother Rashad Haughton is reflecting on his late sister’s legacy on what would have been the singer’s 46th birthday.
In a new conversation with People, Rashad asserted that she would be “the biggest star in the world” if she were alive today.

“Her legacy continues on,” he added. “So we can imagine, we can dream, but we still have all those incredible works that she did do.”
He also reflected on how kind his sister was and how he misses her sense of humor.

“My sister, although she worked so hard, she always was loving and caring to the people around her. Her makeup artists, the managers,” he said. “A lot of times, because we go through so much in this world… a lot of people are suffering, the main thing is you have to smile through the pain, smile through the challenges and hug people. I think when people talk about my sister, the number one thing was that she was such a loving and caring person.”
As for her new Barbie doll, which he designed in collaboration with Mattel, Rashad said: “I can see her playing with these dolls wherever she is right now, which I know is heaven and in a beautiful place. And she’s going to have a doll with her, and be doing all the dance moves from ‘One in a Million’ with it.”
The official Barbie account unveiled the new doll on what would have been Aaliyah’s birthday on Thursday (January 16).
“One in a Million,” they wrote with a sunglasses emoji. “Today on Aaliyah’s birthday, Barbie honors the Princess of R&B’s unmatched legacy as a once-in-a-generation talent. A rising star who left an unforgettable mark on pop culture, the Aaliyah Barbie doll remembers her iconic style, keeping her influence alive across generations.”

The Aaliyah Music Series Barbie look takes inspiration from her 1996 music video for “One in a Million” and features a black faux leather top with matching pants and vest, her signature shades and her signature hair style with a swoop over one eye.
Though pre-sales are already sold out, the doll will be restocked at Target beginning January 26 for an SRP of $55. UK fans can purchase over at Amazon.
