The Drake effect has levels to it. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie announced on Monday (October 31) that he’ll be pushing his album back to December in order to not have a sales showdown on the charts against Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss

“Sorry but Album dropping in December now, Drake was dropping same day and I’m not with that #HOODIESZN,” he wrote with a series of laughing emojis on his Instagram Story.

The Bronx rapper’s Me vs. Myself album is now slated to arrive on December 9 and includes previously released singles such as “24 Hours” featuring Lil Durk and “B.R.O.” alongside Roddy Ricch.

A Boogie hopes to land his second No. 1 album atop the Billboard 200 as long as no other A-listers storm his release date again.

The Drake invasion came a bit out of nowhere after he and 21 Savage announced their Her Loss joint project would be delayed on short notice from October 28 to November 4 after the 6 God’s go-to producer Noah “40” Shebib contracted COVID-19 last week, which forced the push back.

Drizzy and 21 also graced the cover of the latest issue of Vogue, which hit magazine stands on Monday (October 31).

The 6 God debuted the Vogue cover on his Instagram with a post on Sunday (October 30).

Number one, and we’re not settling for anything less. I used to settle for less because I never had that goal to look all the way up there, but now that we looking up there, it’s looking scary for a lot of people.”
