50 Cent Shut Out at EMA’s

The 2005 MTV European Music Awards took place last night in Lisbon, Portugal. Rock groups Coldplay and Green Day were the big winners of the night, taking home two awards each.

Rap legend Snoop Dogg took home the award for Best Hip Hop, beating Kanye West, 50 Cent and Missy Elliot.

The award for Best R&B went to Alicia Keys.

The Black Eyed Peas didn’t go home empty-handed either, winning the Best Pop category.

Despite being criticized earlier this week by 50 Cent for ‘not being a real group’, The Gorillaz, who were up for five nominations, won the Best Group category and stole the show with a 3D performance with De La Soul.

50 Cent failed to win any of the three categories he was nominated for.

Other performances during the night came from Coldplay, Akon, the Black Eyed Peas and Madonna, among others.
