50 Cent Denounces Congressman Doug Lamborn For Calling President Obama A “Tar Baby”

Republican Congressman Doug Lamborn recently made controversial comments regarding President Barack Obama, branding him a “tar baby” while discussing the debt ceiling debate. Though he later apologized for using the racial epithet, rapper 50 Cent has taken his Twitter podium to denounce Lamborn, ranting that the Colorado representative should be removed from office.

“Republican congressman Doug Lamborn should be re leaved of his duties after calling president Obama a tar baby,” he wrote. “Tar baby is a synonym for nigger, except it is only used in bigoted manners, were as nigga can be a sign of respect. The term comes from a children’s story in witch they explain that slaves were”dark and dumb”due to the fact they were” baptized in TAR” #SK. I can’t find a more disrespectful or ignorant way to describe the race or depiction of our president.”

Lamborn first made the comments during an interview with a Denver radio show, saying, “I don’t even want to have to be associated with him. It’s like touching a ‘tar baby.'” Since then, he sent an apology letter to the president and released a statement of apology to the public.

    1. lol, that guy really say that shit??

I already know racism sill exists but you’d think these rednecks would be smart enough to say that shit in private, not only is the dude a bigot he’s too fuckin stupid to be a congressman, lol

    2. n they say racism over n dead cause we have a black president..Then u get off hand comments from a Republican..its a cycle and its going to continue..a person isnt racist..a group of ppl are..a person is smart…groups of ppl are dumb

    3. 50 has a point but he’s the wrong person to try and make any kinda statement like this. He’s been killing niggas in his music for years.

      1. You have a point as well!! At least 50 has the balls to come out and say something about the statement. A lot of these so called tough guy rappers keep their lips shut when it comes to serious shit.

      2. I got it completely…But 50 cent and other minstrel show rappers have been destroying black communities for years. This is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

    4. Never been a fan of 50, but I commend Fif for speakin’ up for our people. 100 salutes to homie.

    5. I think he should be “relieved” of his duties but 50 obviously cant even spell it. But who cares when your filthy rich right lol smh.

    6. tar baby can also mean a sticky situation, which is quite obviously what the congressman meant. don’t quit your day job, 50. this is not your playground.

in fact, quit your day job too you fucking suck now.

      1. also, “The term comes from a children’s story in witch they explain that slaves were ‘dark and dumb’ due to the fact they were ‘baptized in TAR'”

this is completely false. there is no such story. the uncle remus story was also depicting a situation that got progressively worse as you tried to fight it, which is again what tar baby means except when democrats want to distract people from real problems. namely, the failure of obama as a president.

      2. “tar baby can also mean a sticky situation, which is quite obviously what the congressman meant.” -YOU

Are you deaf, dumb or blind? Anyone who would say that has to be one of those to believe that man meant ‘sticky situation’. That’s the most laughable assumption I’ve heard in weeks. Keep sticking your ostrich head in the ground and repeat this… RACISM DOES NOT EXIST! (sarcasm**)

      3. nice comeback, you made your point very well by yelling insults. the debt ceiling issue was a sticky situation, period.

i don’t believe i made any statements about racism not existing, but cool strawman.

here is the full quote by the way: “Now, I don’t even want to have to be associated with him. It’s like touching a tar baby and you get it, you’re stuck, and you’re a part of the problem now and you can’t get away.”

he didn’t say “he’s a tar baby because he’s black and tar is black” because it would make no sense in that context.

      4. I know its fun to try to point out where rappers are misinformed but be realistic. Tar baby is a racist term. Thats a fact and i dont need to look it up because i’ve heard it from racist people. Now this doug lamborn is a grown man with a fully functional brain and politicians are known to watch their words and sometimes sugar coat or twist the truth so they dont loose votes. Now if he said that i’m almost a hundred percent sure he knew what almost anybody would assume. I meen he’s the first black president when politicians say things like lets get a lynching party are he’s a tarbaby you’d have to have a bias not to see that as racism.

    7. ha ha ha Barack Capone deeply connected to gangsta Fifty Cent and the G-Unit crew. Hoover and FDR were heavily involved with the MOB though. Connected to the streets.

    8. FUCK OBAMA NIGGA… let him be called whatever he wants by the same people he seeks acceptance from everyday… sell out ass nigga… election day 2012… vote-stayin at home cuz it does not matter

    9. Psychologist Alfred Adler (1870–1937) used the term to frame one of his counseling theory concepts, calling it “avoiding the tar baby”. It referred to the need to avoid getting stuck in the client’s perception of the problem when that perception was based on faulty assumptions. -Wiki

      That is all.

      1. maybe, but it sure as hell is better than 50 cent. i still haven’t found the story he’s talking about, care to help?

      2. wow. didnt know. but the congressman obviously still didnt know the meanin or else he wouldve defended himself. so the actual meanin of the term is a bit irrelevent in this case. he probably heard someone else say it (who knows how THEY meant it) then said as if it was his own thoughts. when he didnt kno what he was sayin in the first place. which brings me to my point. he SHOULD b relieved. not for the statment itself. but for the fact that he is ignorant and is against obama for the sake of bein against obama. then again thats about 80-90% of obama haters out there. you do have a right to your opinon. however it should b based on facts, policy, things like that. not stupid super-ficial things..

    10. Also, it’s nice to think every white person is racist as hell, most usually are if you ask me, but I highly doubt he is that stupid to say a term he is aware is racist publically. It just shows you how out of touch they are with the black culture.

      1. “you are white right?”

the irony here is delicious. i bet you don’t even realize how racist your comment is.

    11. What a “Big ugly racsist statemen”t, he should be relieved imediately. This is just nasty plain and simple, anyone who would deny this is obviously in the closet. Can’t have them disrepecting the black president, like hillary cinton, Benjamin Netanyahu the list goes on……

    12. IMO, racism is straight up bull shit…fuck skin color. If duke did make that comment, he should be fired…bull shit apology or not…

    13. First off are you trying to say that theres plenty of racist aspects of politics but that guy saying tar baby isn’t. Cuz i def wouldn’t make that arguement. And also i’d have to agree with you on the fifty cent not repping his race well thing but this is not a story that relates to that. That congressman said something blatantly racist and fifty called him out on it thats a good thing spelling errors or not lol. its so petty to try and nitpick problems out of something like this. Be happy an ignorant rapper is using twitter for good for once if more followed his lead it be even better. Also even if its because he has so much money and he might just do it for image he still donates money to charity’s and stuff which is more than you can say about some people even congressman. He aint all that bad.

    14. man i’m suprised that obama hasn’t caught one in the head yet. it’s freakin unbelievable how one man can make one race of people in this country crazy…i mean if you go on any news media site like yahoo o whatever and click on any topic about obama….mannnnnnn. i click on one topic today and it has about 1,500 replies to it….comments like “POS obama (piece of shit)”…”how we vote this…you know if office”…”if you vote for him in 2012, you smoking crack” i mean those comment was so racist you wouldn’t believe it…like i said i know deep down somewhere if obama get in office again…he won’t last…i can see the storm brewing as we speak fo him.

      1. do you thin when they say “we want our America back” it includes all minorities? Or the way it was BEFORE minorities got civil rights?

        WORDPLAY IS A MUFUKKA

GOOD LUCK WITH ICE AND THAT COMMENT YOU MADE

    15. TAR BABY has ALWAYS been a racist label! DO YOUR RESEARCH! Be aware that a lot of the commentators are caucasian, or young blacks who have been taught that “what happened then doesn’t matter now”! DID YOU EVER HEAR THEM SAY TAR BABY WHEN BUSH, REAGAN, CLINTON were in office? NO!

this comment ain’t racist, it’s TRUTH!!!!!!!!!

    16. Tar baby, like some other now racist terms, had a legitimate meaning before being twisted into something hateful. It was originally a term for getting stuck in a literal sticky situation that you can’t get out of, no matter how hard you try. It has since been used as a derogatory term for African Americans. I have yet to see a full transcript of this particular usage of the term so I can’t comment on it but it will be labeled as racist no matter which way he meant it to mean. Somehow John Kerry’s usage of the term in defending Obama was interpreted as racist…

    17. i was with Fif until he said nigga is a sign of respect. thats the problem and they wonder why that retarded white bitch says it. and when he started misspelling shit.

    18. Nobody gives a flying fuck about some ignorant ass illiterate rapper’s view on race and politics..If it were Talib Kweli or someone along them lines, then maybe…But some nursery rhyme imaginary gangster trying to drop science about right vs wrong?fuck outta here fif..take a seat clown..
