50 Cent Developing BET Series About Drug Lord Twins Who Helped Take Down El Chapo

50 Cent can’t leave El Chapo alone.

The G-Unit general has partnered with BET to create an unscripted TV series about Margarito and Pedro Flores, twin brothers from Chicago who became “the most prolific drug dealers in the city’s history” before cooperating with the DEA to bring down Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

50 told the Flores brothers’ story last year in the podcast Surviving El Chapo: The Twins Who Brought Down a Drug Lord, which he executive produced and hosted. This new TV series, to be titled The Twins, is billed as a “companion” to that podcast, per Deadline.

Surviving El Chapo‘s second season ended earlier this month.

This is only the latest bit of good news for 50’s G-Unit Film & Television company.

On Tuesday (December 12), it was reported that 50 received approval from the Shreveport City Council in Louisiana to take over a massive studio, per KSLA12.

The lease will cost Fif $2,400 annually for 30 years, after which he can renew it for 15 more if he pleases.

Last month, city council members introduced legislation for the lease of the Millennium Movie Studio as a base for 50’s entertainment company, G-Unit Film & Television Louisiana, LLC.

“We enjoyed for a period after 2005, we enjoyed a very robust television and film industry in the Shreveport area,” Mayor Tom Arceneaux said. “This will bring back, I think, a lot of those people and will rejuvenate that industry in our area. So I think the film industry is about to blossom again in Shreveport.

“[50 Cent]’s undertaking all of the maintenance and repair, which is around 160 to 170 thousand dollars a year. So to look at just the lease payment is not fair to him. We also anticipate he’s going to make several million dollars of improvements to the facility. This is a very serious proposal, a very serious undertaking by him.”

    1. 50 has a lane he just refuses to travel away from. Everything he comes out with is street/drug related.

      1. A niche isn’t bad for making money… but outside of his TV fan base, nobody thinks 50 is good at productions. Ice cube was much better. 50s stuff is so horrible and corny. Don’t get me wrong, ice cube stuff was very corny. But it was good.

    2. The music industry is already filled with negativity. If it ain’t selling drugs, getting high, committing a crime or female rappers grooming young girls to be hoes to make money. All this guy does is feed off the negativity. He don’t know know how to come up with anything positive, and original. He making all these crime shows based on someone else’s life and he use to cooperate with law enforcement. Ja Rule could have made a film about him a long time ago. But the entertainment business doesn’t discriminate. They don’t care if you gay or whatever. Just as long as they can pimp you and money off your back.

    3. Can’t rappers ever think about ANYTHING other than drugs and violence, ever? It’s so played out. It was played out 20 years ago. Do something else. Grow.

      1. Why not feel some type of way about what keeps getting the green light? People paint everyday; it’s the museum who hangs the paintings up to be seen.
