50 Cent has been known to take things to the extreme, either by deliberate action or through social media, and now an unearthed story about him manhandling a snitch in front of Jennifer Lopez has come to light.
During an interview on the Bag Fuel Podcast, acclaimed producer Cory Rooney recalled a time when the G-Unit mogul allegedly had to get physical with someone because of a dispute involving a friend of his and late Fat Boys rapper Prince Markie Dee.
Rooney claimed that a previous incident involving a friend of 50’s snitching on Markie Dee for being with a woman who wasn’t his girlfriend is what sparked the beatdown at The Hit Factory in New York.
“We’re at the Hit Factory, and I’m with Jennifer in the studio,” Rooney recalled. “50 shows up that day, and he got the dude with him. So he comes to me and he’s like, ‘Yo, where Mark at?’ I said, ‘I don’t know.’ He says, ‘Call him on the phone.’ So, I put him on the phone, 50’s like, ‘Ay yo listen, I got this n-gga here right now, so wassup, tell me what happened.'”
He continued: “The dude was looking around, and he put Mark on speaker, and the dude was saying, ‘Nah, that’s not what happened.’ So after awhile, 50 was looking at him and says he’ll call Mark back. And then, 50 starts pounding this dude, and Jennifer is like, ‘Oh my God.’ She started screaming. Then I told him, ‘Take the n-gga outside.’ ”
Rooney then explained how 50 Cent allegedly continued to beat on the man believed to be his friend outside the studio for disloyalty and making him look bad in front of his other friends. You can check out the full story below.
Corey Rooney is a record producer who has worked closely with J.Lo for over two decades and signed 50 Cent in the late 1990s.
Back in April, the “In da Club” hitmaker took to Instagram to share a video of the former lovers sharing a steamy moment onstage at Tao Beach in Las Vegas, NV.
Fif posted the video next to a picture of Irv looking a little worse for wear, implying that the Murder Inc. co-founder was shell-shocked following the rumors about Nelly and Ashanti’s romantic reunion.
“Man, somebody check on Irv Gotti ASAP!” he wrote in the photo. “Know he going through it right now.”
“HE WILL BE AIGHT [laughing face emojis],” he wrote in the caption. “I was in love wit her, and she just popped up with Nelly. LOL.”
50 Cent and Irv Gotti have been at odds since 1999, after Irv’s longtime friend and artist Ja Rule was robbed for his chain at gunpoint in Southside Jamaica, Queens while he was filming a music video, allegedly by an associate of 50 Cent.
“Ja saw me in a club with the kid who robbed him,” Fif claimed in his 2005 biography From Pieces to Weight. “I went over to say, ‘What’s up’ to Ja, and he acted like he had a problem with me. But I’m not the one who robbed him.”
Ja Rule has since confirmed the robbery took place, but he denies he ever saw 50 Cent with the robber.
