4Batz has revealed plenty of details about his meteoric rise to fame, touching on industry rumors and his path to stardom.
In a profile with GQ that published on Monday (April 29), the OVO affiliate addressed rumors that he was an “AI industry plant.”

He spoke on a rumor that was propagated by Joe Budden — that 4Batz was nothing more than an AI-driven experiment.
“I think it’s kind of cool,” 4Batz told GQ. He added: “It’s like I’m the boogeyman. [Then] people are going to meet me and be like, Oh, this is a regular hood n-gga.”

4Batz also reflected on his struggles with homelessness and depression.
He said: “My whole life, I’ve been feeling like I was cursed…I don’t know what it’s like to have a house…I only lived in an apartment probably two times in my life. The rest of the time I was living with my uncle, my grandma, sleeping on the floor. I slept in a church for four years.”

He continued: “My whole life I’ve been through shit…I’ve been on suicide watch before. I’ve been on all these other programs, taking antidepressants and shit. I’ve been on that shit. I was at the point where I’m tired of it. I was like, I could just take myself and be gone or I can push myself harder than I ever did in my life.”
In other 4Batz news, the artist recently debuted new music for none other than Kanye West.

In an Instagram Story from earlier this month, Ye was looking at his phone, listening to a new track by the rising star and nodding along to the beat, seemingly giving the track his seal of approval.
While it isn’t clear which song Ye was checking out, the track is speculated to be on 4Batz’s upcoming debut project, which is being released through Drake‘s OVO Sound label.

Drake’s buzzworthy signee will also apparently have a Chris Brown feature on his forthcoming project when it arrives next month.
In a post to his Instagram Story earlier in April, the “act ii: date @ 8” singer shared a video of himself bopping hard in the studio with CB.
A snippet of a song played in the background as well, giving fans yet another preview of what to expect.
The newcomer’s EP U Made Me A St4r is due out on Friday (May 3), which he reiterated in the video’s caption. It previously had a release date of April 5 but was evidently pushed back.
