2Pac once tried to fight Snoop Dogg for allegedly betraying Death Row Records, according to their former label boss Suge Knight.
Speaking to The Art of Dialogue, the incarcerated mogul detailed ‘Pac and Snoop’s falling-out during the “Dear Mama” rapper’s final days before he was shot and killed in 1996.

Suge explained that the pair’s relationship soured when Snoop showed love to Diddy or Biggie — fierce rivals of Death Row at the time — in a radio interview.
“We back at the hotel […] and I hear banging at the door,” he recalled. “I throw my boxers on, open the door and ‘Pac just runs in my room. I’m like, ‘What’s up?’ He’s like, ‘You got a radio?’ He all pumped up, he put the radio on, and we listened to Snoop on the radio.”

The Death Row co-founder continued: “Snoop is saying that’s ‘Pac on the bullshit. He’d do a song with Biggie, he’d do a song with Puffy, he’d do all these songs. ‘Pac was so mad because ‘Pac loved those dudes. He always would ride for them. And he brought it up.
“He said, ‘Man, I just came to fuck with you, but I fuck with everybody on Death Row. I put everybody on my album […] I’ll get on the frontline for them. For this fool to go up there and get on the radio and say fuck me and he riding with them? It’s on.’”

Knight explained that ‘Pac became even more riled up when Snoop was shot at while filming his “New York, New York” music video in the Big Apple, which was allegedly ordered by Biggie.
“We’re getting ready to fly back [home]. Every night before I turned in, I would hit ‘Pac and I would hit Snoop. ‘You good?’ ‘Yep.’ ‘You good?’ ‘Yep.’ That’s it, that means everybody’s straight,” he continued.

“When we got downstairs, ‘Pac took off on Snoop. ‘Pac ran up on him, did what he did. Snoop ran this way, ‘Pac running behind me. I stopped it. ‘You ain’t finna be doing all this shit in New York, making us all look like we some idiots.'”
Suge instead encouraged his two artists to settle their differences at Death Row’s studio back on the West Coast — specifically in the “red room” where any internal problems were hashed out in private (and not just with words).
According to Suge, however, Snoop ducked ‘Pac.
“Once people walk out that door, it’s over. I told both of them that. I told Snoop, ‘Come get in the car, we got to go to the airport.’ Snoop refused to ride with ‘Pac because he thought ‘Pac was crazy. Snoop rode in the van with the luggage,” he said.
“When we get to the private plane, I tell ‘Pac, ‘Let’s just get to the house and y’all can have that conversation later.’ But Snoop never got on the plane and grabbed no fork or no knife and banged on ‘Pac and all that type of stuff. Never happened.”

He added: “Snoop wasn’t trying to run into ‘Pac at all. He definitely didn’t gang bang on him.”
Suge was referencing Tha Doggfather’s previous claim that he was on the same flight back home as 2Pac, and carried a knife and a fork out of fear for his safety.
“Normally on a private plane, it be me ‘Pac and his security, me and my security, Suge and a couple of his homies. This time, Suge was like, ‘Hold up, [your security] can’t roll. They gotta catch a regular flight,'” Snoop told Angie Martinez in 2019.
“So now I’m like, ‘Okay.’ First of all, ‘Pac ain’t said shit to me the whole time. I know how this n-gga get down. So I get on the plane and I’m looking around. I’m like, ‘Wassup, ‘Pac?’ And they [ignore me].

“I walk to the back of the plane, get me a blanket, grab me a knife and a fork, put the blanket over my nose and ride like this the whole flight, hoping one of them n-ggas would fuck with me so I can stab everyone on this muthafucka.”
Snoop added that once the flight landed with no violence erupting on board, he asked 2Pac if he was planning to go to Las Vegas for the Mike Tyson fight, but his labelmate blew him off.
“That was the last time I saw my n-gga alive,” he said.
