2Pac’s legacy spans several generations, and the memories of his brief yet impactful life continue to spring up time and time again.

Appearing on Sway in the Morning on Monday (June 12), Samuel L. Jackson recalled his time on set of the ’90s movie Juice. At one point, a caller asked him what it was like working on the film alongside Special Ed, Treach and 2Pac.

Juice — can I think back that far?” the iconic actor responded jokingly before telling a story about ‘Pac and his wife, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, who plays Steel’s mother in the film.

“‘Pac was walkin’ through that day and he was cussin’ somebody out. My wife grabbed him and was like, ‘Young man, you see all these women sittin’ in here? You can’t be in here cursin.'”

Jackson then dramatically reenacted the collective gasp from everybody in the room following the confrontation. Still, 2Pac was respectful and he apologized to her for his conduct.

When people asked if LaTanya was aware of who she had just put on the spot, Jackson remembered her saying: “No, I have no idea who he was, but he shouldn’t have been cursing in front of all these women in this room. From that point on, every time he saw her, he was like, ‘Hey mom, how you doin?'”

The interaction is particularly amusing considering Samuel L. Jackson has become famous for his use of “motherfucker” in several iconic films such as Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and Soul Men. Aside from his accolades in Hollywood, he is closely associated with the word in popular culture.

2Pac is also praised for his acting roles during his short stint in the film space. In addition to Juice, he participated in landmark ’90s movies such as Poetic Justice and Above the Rim.

“It was a joy to work with somebody who understood what was going on,” Jackson said about the late rapper’s acting skills. “As much as everybody put ‘Pac in that whole rapping world, he did go to a performance high school. He understood the business of acting.”

2Pac was recently honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Among those in attendance were YG, DJ Quik, Alex Thomas, Mopreme Shakur and Mike Epps.

The late rapper’s sister, Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, paid tribute to her brother at the ceremony. “2Pac knew deep down that he was always meant for something great,” she said in her speech. “As his little sister, I had the privilege to watch that greatness unfold. From the first time he stepped foot on stage at the Apollo Theater at 13 years old before anyone recognized his name, he knew he had the dream to have a star here on the Walk of Fame.”
