2 Chainz is determined to get his money back from an investment in a cannabis business, and he’s going to court to do it.

First spotted by Law 360, the new Los Angeles Superior Court suit says that 2 Chainz reportedly invested $1.5M into a Los Angeles-based weed business, which he was connected to through Snoop Dogg’s tour manager, back in 2021.

He was, the complaint claims, promised the ability to get his money back at any point, provided he gave 30 days’ notice. He attempted to do that in May 2022, but the company allegedly didn’t pay up.

2 Chainz asked for the refund after the business had reportedly pushed back its opening day nearly a year.

The suit goes on to say that the rapper personally texted the business’s co-founder in late 2022 to get his money back, only to be told that his deal no longer applied.

Chainz has made good business decisions in recent months as well, including teaming up with Smoothie King.

In late June, Smoothie King revealed that the “I’m Different” hitmaker teamed up with another franchisee to open a new kiosk at the State Farm Arena in Georgia. The ordering device was set to make its debut on June 26, which was also when the venue hosted the 2024 NBA Draft Party for the Atlanta Hawks.

“As we continue to expand, we’re thrilled to welcome 2 Chainz to our franchisee family — not to mention in collaboration with one of our great partners in the Atlanta Hawks,” Smoothie King CEO Wan Kim said about the new partnership.

The 46-year-old rapper added: “I visit Smoothie King at least twice a week, so this partnership has been a long time coming. Opening a Smoothie King in State Farm Arena felt like the right move for me.
