2 Chainz has revisited a time when he was fully prepared to slaughter his rhymes during his 2011 BET Cypher that also featured Busta Rhymes, and Ludacris.
On Tuesday (July 4), the Atlanta rapper took to Instagram to take a trip down memory lane, recalling the moment he got the call from Luda telling him that he would be participating in the classic annual event.

“I remember this day like it was yesterday..,” 2 Chainz began. “I was riding with my pops and gotta call from @ludacris to do the cypher … THAT DAY … I was like how? he said we bout to hop on jet and go shoot it .. my pop took me home I grabbed [my] polo jacket , tru religion pants and Louis V shoes, and met them at clear-port.”
He added: “I didn’t even know what beat i was rapping to until I landed, they kept telling me it’s a “break beat” anyway. Moral of story – stay ready so you won’t have to get ready.”

Chainz ended up rapping a slick verse filled with various punchlines that were rewind worthy in his particular cypher group which was called the “Uncut” cypher.
“If this was New Edition, I’ll be Bobby Brown/ Put the check over your head and call it Nike Town/ How could I be down, Free Boosie, wipe me down/ My credit card is black and proud,” he rapped over the James Brown instrumental.

Other rappers from the various cyphers that year included Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Big K.R.I.T., Machine Gun Kelly, and Royce Da 5’9″, to name a few.

Tity Boi might’ve been prepared to spit bars for BET but he wasn’t ready last month when he checked out a rare piece of Snoop Dogg and Suge Knight memorabilia from the Death Row era on his show Most Expensivest.
During a June episode of his GQ YouTube series, 2 Chainz teamed up with Master Gee of the Sugar Hill Gang and singer-songwriter Pamola Ford to sift through some legendary Hip Hop items alongside National Hip Hop Museum founder Jeremy Beaver.

One of the noteworthy pieces was a custom leather jacket Jeff Hamilton hand-made for Suge Knight in honor of Snoop’s 1993 debut album Doggystyle, which included a leather embroidery of Tha Doggfather’s face on the back.
“That’s hard!” 2 Chainz proclaimed while marveling over the vintage one-of-one jacket. “[Jeff Hamilton] is the best at making these jackets, absolutely. This is an original Suge jacket bro, man! The detail is so crazy.”
Beaver, who was holding the jacket, clarified that the memorabilia is actually priceless, but post-appraisal it was given a price range of $200,000 to $250,000.
2 Chainz reacted to the eye-watering figure by hanging his head and putting his face in his palms.

Another noteworthy item Beaver showed 2 Chainz and co. was LL COOL J’s signature boxing glove from his “Mama Said Knock You Out” music video, which is valued at $75,000 to $95,000. The glove had also been authenticated, meaning the item now has “provenance” and is a one-of-a-kind artifact.
