The never ending saga continues, when a group delivers material that’s destined for higher plateaus and is side-swiped by politics, not enough promotions, dropped for more radio playable (what in the blue hell that means) material. Well I bring you the Q’n’C Report. Q-Ball and Curt Cazal together have summed up twenty-one years in this unforgiving business, where artist fall off not to be heard from again, they are delivering an album due in the latter part of march early April, on the DND Recording label.
While they hale from Central Islip Long Island, Q-Ball has been rhymin’ for ten years and handling the business aspects professionally for seven, Curt Cazal a Dj since the age of eleven, and both in their mid-twenties. Q-Ball states it as, “It was too much bullsh-t, as a soloist, I met Curt and we decided to do the group thing, because he’s not who he is, I am not who I am…We make up who we are, and that’s to be the Dynamic Duo.” Which coincidentally is as of today the title of the forth coming album.
While speaking to the group it wasn’t hard to stay focus on the answers, both fellas were patient enough to let the other follow through on their individual thoughts on the question asked, while the other would just supplement to it. For example, they were questioned about their inspiration to succeed in this business, Q’s response was the rhymin’ as he’s inspired by artist the likes of fellow home towner K-Solo, EPMD, Keith Murray also others like Marley Marl and Redman, while Curt chimes in to say it’s just the game itself, which gave inspiration. Similarly when asked about what about the artistry of the game they liked, Q says, the rhyme, styles of rhymes..Curt’s response is elaborated to the Deejaying, different producers and the rapping, yeah the whole thing.
Now at this stage of the game, the listeners that follow trendy hip hop, would be aghast at the success Q’n’C has amass to date. Q’n’C: The first song we ever put out on our own was “Making Moves” and then “My Kinda Moves.” The Freeze release was “Tremendous” with Mama Mystique and they also released a song called “Rock The Spot” before we left there and went to D&D. Repertoire b/w Come Correct feat. Rock of Helter Skelter which was a deal with D&D through Gee-street Records.

Rhythm: Who have you work with in the industry, that was all good in the studio?
Q’n’C: We did a song with Lord Jamar called Real Live, Beatminerz, and of course producing the song Tremendous for Mama-Mystique.
Rhythm: What’s the difference between the days at Freeze and now being with DND?
Q’n’C: It’s better, though we are waiting through the politics of being an artist, we can focus more on the artistry and not the business, quoting Curt, “I was doing a project for DND and we all had the same frame of mind (Doug Grama and David Lotwin), we signed here” hopes that will make us rise to the top.

Rhythm: Lastly I have to ask, where do you get your high from, performance, creating or recording?
Q’n’C: Curt, putting it together gives me mine, but I like performing..so it’s 50/50, Q, after working hard, I like seeing the results, waiting to hear the response…You know, when 9 out of 10 kats tell you they like it.
The current project the Dynamic Duo Album, has the current single out now “Gotta Give” with the b-side “Rhyme Connection” feat. Silk and Cinista. A second single should be up the end of January, beginning of February, also expect the album by the end of the first quarter (that’s beginning of April ). Nonetheless take the opportunity to check out any of their past material, there for you’ll know what you are preparing for in the new songs. Q’n’C intends on remaining true to the game but savvy as businessmen already locking down their production and publishing…they’re not new to this, so be on the look out for Q’n’C.
