Cambodian hip hop superstar VannDa took to Facebook late last night (November 14) to air out his disappointment and frustrations regarding his unreleased music being leaked.

The “Time To Rise” artist said that he has “no time to be beefing with anyone” and yet “betrayals since the start of my career it still happens, no matter which point I’m at in my life.” He went on to say that “majority of people nowadays do not value loyalty & trust anymore, people you’ve known for years through ups & downs will not even hesitate to stab you in your back anymore.”

He also asked those who are in possession of his tracks to keep them to themselves. “To the people who have access to multiple of my leaked tracks, if you have some respect for me and for yourself, just keep it to yourself. I am very disappointed. I have had enough of this shit.”

In his post, he shared two screenshots of WhatsApp messages dated November 13 from someone who wanted to “explain all the stories that happened recently about leaked songs.” The unnamed individual claims they got the unreleased songs “from desktop” and played them for their brother and “decided to share some of that songs with him,” which in turn circulated online.

The same individual apologized via WhatsApp and claimed their only intention is to merely listen to the unreleased tracks. “I never try to expose or try to make cool of it I only want to listen that’s all.”

This is the last time I am speaking on this, I am so sick of being disrespected when all I have is love for music.

It’s always the people around you that has the power to hurt you the most. I’ve always known it for a fact & got “Trust No Fucking Body” tatted on me yet after betrayals since the start of my career it still happens, no matter which point I’m at in my life. It has created so much trust issues between me & the people around me it’s so disappointing. I ain’t got no time to be beefing with anyone, diss tracks are for people that continuously crossing their lines and need to be straightened up. What eats me up inside is that majority of people nowadays do not value loyalty & trust anymore, people you’ve known for years through ups & downs will not even hesitate to stab you in your back anymore. That’s what I care about & that’s why I’m sick of this shit.

People nowadays only look for ways they can benefit off of me but no one ever sees the sacrifices I made for our music industry, the time I do not get to spend with my family and loved ones, the time I do not get to spend with myself. I never wanted any thanks or even appreciation from anybody, all I ever wanna do is make music. Why can’t enjoy the one thing I love to do most?

To the people who have access to multiple of my leaked tracks, if you have some respect for me and for yourself, just keep it to yourself. I am very disappointed. I have had enough of this shit.

Two hours later, VannDa shared in Khmer that he will “release all leaked tracks today and in the coming days.” Moreover, “For those who keep sharing my leaked tracks on my folder, please continue listening because you already destroyed my heart.”

VannDa has had a momentous year so far, coming off a recently concluded and wildly successful national tourto promote his sophomore album, his first overseas performance in Singapore for ASEAN Music Showcase Festival, international collaborations, and brand campaigns.

The crux of his music, according to him, was always about promoting Cambodian culture and learn from other cultures. “Exchange the culture, exchange the instrument, or the skill, everything. We learn a lot,” he told us in an exclusive interview.

As of publishing, VannDa has not provided any update regarding the status of his leaked music, but has since received an outpour of support from fans and well-wishers.
