SHNTI goes on lovestruck mode in “Tabi ka sakin” (Get Next To Me), her first single of the year.

The Filipina rapper takes it nice and easy in the downtempo Tagalog number, where she gets candid about navigating a budding romance but managing her expectations as if sensing failure is at bay.

Released today (January 18) on SoundCloud, “Tabi ka sakin” shows SHNTI’s laidback side, thematically and stylistically. Last year, the femcee took part in the advocacy album Pasya (Choice) that tackles abortion and women’s health issues in the Philippines, where she contributed two solo tracks, “Free” and “Stigma,” as well as “Regla” (Menstrual Blood) with Muro Ami and Tao, which made to HipHopDX Asia’s 20 Best Songs of 2021.
