Indonesian rapper-singer Warren Hue kicks off the year with “INTERNET BOY.” The track was accompanied by self-directed and edited eclectic glitchy visuals.

The 88rising artist premiered the fast-paced electro-rap cut yesterday (January 4), a surprise pivot from his earlier releases. “Hello hello I’m an internet boy / garageband star I’m an internet boy / made all this money from the internet, boy,” he raps on the track, referencing the early days of his music career. Hue first made waves with his remixes and original music posted on his SoundCloud account under the moniker warrenisyellow in 2018, when he was still in high school.

Warren Hue has since signed to New York-based label and artist collective 88rising, alongside fellow Indonesian hip hop and R&B superstars Rich Brian and NIKI, respectively. “Internet Boy” is a sharp contrast from the melodic rap cuts and R&B stylings we’ve seen from Hue recently. In 2021, Hue made his 88rising debut with “omomo punk” and released “WEST” last November.
