Luci J of Filipino underground rap group 1096 Gang reflects on mortality in latest solo track, “Paulit Ulit” (“Over and Over Again”), produced by frequent collaborator, Don Jay.
He writes about the track: “Sa mundong ito pare pareho lang tayong… may dinadaanan sa buhay ngunit nilalabanan parin… Bandang huli mag iiwan lang tayo ng alaala… bakit hindi natin gawing mas makabuluhan?” (“We’re all the same in this world, going through something and still fighting. In the end, we’ll only leave memories… why not make it meaningful?”)
This is Luci J’s second track of the year, apart from the 1096 Gang standalone single, “Gawin.” His fellow members Ghetto Gecko and Guddhi$t are also keeping busy putting out solo releases.
