Balming Tiger is heading back to SXSW this year with a special showcase.

The Seoul-based alternative K-pop band teamed up with American entertainment company Jaded to co-present Tiger Den, a first-of-its-kind event in SXSW history to exclusively feature a multi-genre pan-Asian lineup.

Taking place on March 15 at local venue Cheer Up Charlies in Austin, Texas, Tiger Den will be held over two stages featuring 19 music acts curated by Balming Tiger and Jaded.

Featured on the lineup are several hip hop, R&B, and multi-instrumentalist acts including sogumm, Lil Cherry& GOLDBUUDA (South Korea), Tohji (Japan), Yacko & Tuan Tigabelas (Indonesia), 9m88 (Taiwan), Lunadira (Malaysia), Vanthan (Cambodia), and more.

The news shortly follows the release of Balming Tiger’s latest single, “Trust Yourself,” which was announced to be part of the group’s debut compilation album set to be released this year. They will also be performing a sold-out show in Brooklyn and Los Angeles after their SXSW show.

This is the second appearance of the group at SXSW after last year’s event titled “Joyful Delivery” (named after their tagline), which was the first Korean artist-presented official showcase at SXSW.

Meanwhile, Jaded’s inaugural showcase last year was headlined by Japanese pop band CHAI and was the first showcase in SXSW history to exclusively feature artists from the Asian diaspora.

Tiger Den serves as a collaborative expansion of both Balming Tiger and Jaded’s efforts to spotlight Asian talent—several of whom will mark their first U.S. performance at Tiger Den—to an international audience.

In a press statement, Balming Tiger director San Yawn said they “share a mutual goal [with Jaded] to champion Asian youth culture throughout the world. We are excited to introduce many rising talents to a new audience.”

“We believe in the positive impact that the next generation of Asian artists will have on global pop culture, and we are dedicated to creating opportunities for them to be seen and heard in markets where they historically have limited access,” said Jaded founder Jing Wang.
