According to a familiar cliché, a picture is worth a thousand words. Your favorite celebrities—including rappers—are doing less and less press, but luckily their thumbs and smartphones still work. Instagram has provided a way for them to document their lives and/or thoroughly embarrass themselves for our collective enjoyment. The beauty of it all is that you don’t even need to join Instagram, as most rappers are perfectly fine leaving their feeds open for public viewing. And if you’d rather avoid the IG life altogether, we’ve filtered through the top rapper’s pictures and videos and consolidated all the week’s events into one convenient feed.

This week, 50 Cent trolls Floyd Mayweather and asks him to take a reading challenge and DJ Mustard is named Producer of the Year at the 2014 BMI R&B/Hip Hop Awards. Check the rest of the week’s top Instagram posts below.

Drake Makes The Cameo Of His Life

What do you do when the girl you’ve been publicly pining over calls you up and tells you to head on over to her music video set? You run right over. No questions asked. I’m sure Aubrey made his way over to his buddy Nicki’s “Anaconda” set without asking who, where, what and why. And was pleasantly surprised with the “why.” The caption: “Ayyyyyyyye @nickiminaj way way wayyyyyy up. Def the best invite to a video shoot EVER. #ViewsFromMyChair #MyAnacondaWasWayUp.” Friend zoning at its finest.

50 Cent Gives Floyd Mayweather A Reading Challenge

While the rest of celebrity America is smiling, laughing and pouring buckets filled with ice over their heads due to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge phenomenon, 50 Cent just smiled and basically thought, “Or nah.” Instead, he called on his former friend Floyd Mayweather to do a reading challenge. The caption: “Floyd will you except my ALS/ESL CHALLENGE: I will donate $750k to a charity of your choice, If you can read a full page out of a Harry Potter book out loud without starting and stopping or fucking up. lmao.” After the challenge was made, “The Breakfast Club” released audio of Mayweather trying to read a promotional drop during his visit to the radio station. From the sound of it, maybe 50 Cent was right.

Killer Mike on CNN

Self-proclaimed gangster-rapper-and-political-junkie Killer Mike paid a visit to CNN to discuss civil rights abuses, among other topics, in a live interview. “I’m afraid for all Americans,” the emcee said during his CNN appearance. “I’m not just afraid for Black Americans today. I’m afraid for all Americans because whether it’s this situation with this particular policeman in Ferguson or illegal traffic stops or policemen asking you questions that directly interfere with your 5th Amendment rights, things have gotten so lax to the point that we all have an apathy that we aren’t on the case about the people we vote into office, meaning mayors, the people they appoint, police chiefs, and the people that are hired police. We as Americans have to be more vigilant about policing the people we pay to protect and serve us.” The caption: “Ohhhhh shit! Look who is in the building #CNN let’s chop it up.”
