Eminem paid tribute to his fans after making a surprise appearance at the premiere of the documentary, Stans.
Making an unannounced showing at the premiere in New York, Em said: “Let me tell you why this shit is crazy to me. Because, when I was writing the song ‘Stan,’ I think I was just understanding the impact that my music was having on some people. And it’s so crazy to me to look at, over my career, just the fact that I was able to impact people.”
He added: “I love you too. I’m trying to think of what the fuck I’m saying here… When I was writing this song I didn’t understand the impact my music was having on people at the time and it was really surreal to me, and it’s still surreal to this day to look out here and see all you and the fact that my music has inspired you. This film is a thank you to all of you for sticking by me for this whole fucking time.
“I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Stans is a documentary that profiles 20 different fans who talk in depth about how the rap legend’s music has impacted their lives over the last 30 years.
The film also features appearances from Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine, Dido and LL Cool J among others.
Adam Sandler recently revealed how Eminem’s hilarious cameo in Happy Gilmore 2 came about.
Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show, Sandler explained: ”I love Eminem. I’m friends with Eminem, but I don’t want to bother the man. And everybody kept saying, ‘Man, Eminem would be so funny in this part.’ I was like, ‘I don’t want to ruin this guy’s time. He’s hanging out. He’s in Detroit. He’s doing his life making records’.”
The comedian said he later reached out with the rap legend who was happy to take part: “Let me bug Marshall and give him a call and say, ‘Dude, I know it’s a pain in the ass, but it’s pretty funny. You mind shooting out to us for a day?’”
