It looks like rapper/entrepreneur Jay-Z’s involvement with a project slated to create a multi-billion dollar racino, race-track and casino, in Queens may in fact be questionable. A new report by the New York Post claims that Aqueduct Entertainment Group (AEG), the company behind the project, is now being questioned due to its selection process for partners.
According to the New York Post, rapper/entrepreneur Jay-Z may have been added to the racino project by AEG solely to win the favor of New York Governor David Patterson. Initially, Wynn Resorts Limited’s Steve Wynn was expected to take part in the project but pulled out due to the lengthy review process and rules.
“[Gov.] Paterson directly told Wynn he needed to have a minority partner, so he went and got Jay-Z,” a source told the New York Post. “But when Wynn pulled out, Jay-Z was without a home.”
When contacted by the Post, a rep for AEG denied choosing Jay-Z because of his ties with Governor Patterson.
“Given [Jay-Z’s] superstardom and his long and deep connection to New York, the partners thought he could bring a unique perspective to shaping a facility that would truly be an entertainment destination,” explained AEG spokesman Jonathan Rosen. “The partners were looking to bring in someone who could bring marketing and community advice to the team.”
Jay-Z has yet to respond publicly to the allegations against AEG and the current investigation.
So What? Gov. Patterson wanted another minority to have stake in a dominantly white enterprise. Why the investigation? Scared? I smell bullshit. Or as Public Enemy named their classic album “Fear Of A Black Planet”.

I think Jay-Z would be a great addition to any team who was selected for this project, but I wonder if AEG was the best choice or the influential/political choice. If Jay-Z would have stayed with Steve Wynn’s group, would the gov. have picked them???
This is no different than the Jersey Nets deal. Billionaire white men seeked out Jay because it made it easier for them to move into Brooklyn for development… Now they seek out Jay because they need a black face to get a deal to go through, and of course, Jay was quick to take it because its just another thing for him to hang over dumb niggas heads.

This is the work of Affirmative Action at hand. The need of a minority to help move this project forward. Who better than the biggest name in New York amongst the blacks. They could’ve gotten another black person with money, but Jay Z’s name tied to it has more drawing power to bring more minorities to the place once it is built.
Call Jay what you want, he knows why they want him (his name that is). Why not invest a few million to make billions… Call it a bad ethical decision, but Flava Flave said said it best when he said he knows these crackers are laughing at him and talking about him, but at the same time they are paying him….

This is about federal contracting and regulation that apply. They could have reached out to any minority but a minority of JAY Z’s status bring a whole different ball game. The only reason they reached out to his stupid ass is because minority contracts are set aside for minority and these contracts can be awarded non-competitively.
There is a black elitism that exist to suppress poor blacks and create a upper black middle class. This is why they don’t target regular minority business owners. The top 10% keep their wealth circulating only among themselves. I am not sure what Jay Z has done to help poor blacks or what he has done to affect the climate of black america.
