In an interview with StreetzOnFire, filmed during BET Awards weekend, rapper The Game clarified recent statements he made in regards to a possible G-Unit reunion.
Game explained that he wouldn’t be opposed to a reunion and that money is a key motivator.
“I was just letting the homie know that it’s 2010,” said Game. “It’s a new day and it’s really time to get money you know what I’m saying…So all I’m saying is why not get out here wing it like Voltron and shit. Bring it back full circle and make some mother fuckin’ money. So what I was saying was I wasn’t opposed to it.”
Although Game is willing to take part in a reunion he revealed that no apologies are expected nor are they necessary.
“He got an ego. I got an ego. Ain’t nobody apologizing,” Game explained. “Ain’t nobody saying that they was wrong, but you ain’t gotta do that to make amends. You just gotta get together, do the shit, and you can do it for the sake of money. We don’t gotta break no peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in half and do the shit. Come to an agreement as men, get the shit done like men.
For the past few years there has been a constant rift between Game and members of G-Unit. G-Unit has yet to respond to Game’s talk of a reunion.

In a more correct perspective, 50 cent and G-Unit are in a stable market right now and can sell a generally good amount of songs and music. Opening the idea of a reunion just reinforces a point that he may not sell his album, or he’s too weak to come back. He has a loyal fan base but biting the hand the fed him will definitely bit him back. He should eliminate all conversations about G-Unit because that’s the past. This is 2010, and the idea of a reunion is very unrealistic. 50 Cent is very successful with his 400 million dollar water acquisition. It would be to his best interest to negate the reunion.
Furthermore, 50 cents collaboration with E-40 and Too short of the bay area has definitely opened up his fan base in California. His fan base before the collaboration was rather weak and was unable to sell out the San Francisco arena. Collaborations with California artists would boost his sells but working with Game will definitely make the audience question the intention.
Yes money will force any collaboration, like Cory Gunz and Aaron Fresh, even though their music is unrelated, but the audience prefers originality and honesty. In the streets, going back to the person that you betrayed could cost someone there life. In the music industry, it could cost them fans.
