DX News Bits: Jay-Z, Eminem and Mos Def

After performing for Major League Baseball’s Yankees last season, Jay-Z will continue his relationship with the ball club by releasing Jay-Z-endorsed limited edition memorabilia. Fans can expect fitted caps, t-shirts and more to come from this partnership, one that will coincide with the highly anticipated Jay-Z/Eminem performances set to take place next month.

During a recent interview with Billboard, Eminem said fans can expect to have a good time with the shows. The duo will stop in Detroit’s Comerica Park for two performances on September 2-3 before taking the show to Yankee Stadium on September 13-14. “I don’t want to give anything away,” Em said. “But, I think it will be good.”

In other news, Mos Def is being sued for over $57,000 for backing out of a concert in Toronto in late February. The suit, filed by REMG Entertainment, claims Mos hasn’t paid back the deposit for the performance, which was more than $12,000. According to TMZ reports, Mos’ no-show caused them to lose “customers, sales and goodwill.”
