A Colorado man will now face life in prison after being convicted of first-degree murder following a 2009 shooting at an E-40 concert in Colorado Springs. The man convicted, 24-year-old Terry Lamaire Gaines, shot and killed a man in a parking lot following the concert.
According to Denver’s ABC 7 News, Gaines received life in prison on top of 10 extra years from the judge for three other charges. The three extra charges stemmed from a vehicular chase Gaines led police on following the shooting, a gun possession by a previous offender charge, and a marijuana possession charge.
The victim in the shooting, 27-year-old Michael Allen Davis, was found dead in his car by police outside of the venue E-40 performed at earlier in the evening.
Unfortunately, this was not the only violent incident to take place after an E-40 show in Colorado. Just months before the 2009 incident five people were injured following a shooting after an E-40 appearance at Denver’s Club Vinyl.
Shortly following the 2008 shooting in Denver, E-40’s manager released a statement explaining that his client had no involvement whatsoever in the shooting.
“Neither E-40 nor anyone traveling with him was in the venue at the time. In fact, E-40 had concluded his performance and been back in the hotel room,” said E-40’s manager Chaz Hayes. “During his time at the venue, and in fact during the trip to Denver as a whole, he encountered nothing but love and gave nothing but love back. E-40 had a crowd pleasing and peaceful show.”
E-40 is currently preparing for the March 29th release of his upcoming album titled Revenue Retrievin’: Graveyard Shift. The album will feature appearances from T-Pain, Tech N9ne, Bun B, and more.
This type of shit ruins Hip Hop people need to grow the fuck up could you imagine this shit going down at Spears or Timberlake show… NO!
You hit it dead on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’d shoot myself if I was at a Spears or Timberlake show!
Yeah, but this bad aura around some artists’ muzik needs to be done away with. Obviously, if the bad and ugly is goin down then the muzik is attracting those types of people. You can’t make gangsta muzik & not expect gangstas to be at the concert.
You won’t see shit like this at, lets say a Nas & Jr. Gong concert because the muzik has a positive message and sends out positive vibes.
It’s my mad at the world look, huh.
That’s Pretty Bizarre that The 2 Incidents mentioned both happened in colorado. Some Fucked Up Shit.
