Prodigy has always been a controversial emcee, beefing with artists such as Jay-Z, Nas, and Keith Murray. It’s unsurprising, then, that his book, My Infamous Life, has caused controversy as well, leading to allegations that Prodigy snitched on various individuals in the book.
“I don’t think people understand the definition of dry snitch,” replied Prodigy in an interview about the matter. “Dry snitch is a slang we started…A dry snitch is somebody that snitch for no reason. How do I fit into that category if there’s nothing in the books that can get somebody charged or get somebody locked up? Nothing. There’s no unsolved mystery. There’s nothing in the book that’s serious like that. Serious shit…that’s left unsaid. There’s a lot of shit that’s left unsaid.”
P speculated as to the nature of the allegations. “I believe that the people that are saying, promoting, rather, that I’m dry snitching in the book…I believe that the reason they’re promoting that is to take the people’s attention off of the way they’re portrayed in the book. I feel that maybe they’re hurt, or maybe [they feel] they’re betrayed.”
“The truth must be told. Minus the [snitching]. Not that kind of truth. I’m not sitting on the witness stand, saying ‘he did it.'”
