With rumors of a reunion LP continually popping up online, fans have been fever pitch for Mos Def and Talib Kwel to join forces on a full project for the first time in over a decade. Now, it looks like that Black Star may be one step closer to that reunion album, as the Brooklyn duo will be hitting “The Colbert Report” with a new song.
On Wednesday October 5, Mos Def and Talib Kweli will debut a new song titled “Fix Up” on Comedy Central hit show “The Colbert Report,” in addition to performing their 1998 classic “Astronomy (8th Light).” This performance will mark Kweli’s second appearance on the program in 2011.
“The Colbert Report” airs nightly on Comedy Central at 11:30 PM. Comedy Central also indicated that bonus footage from tomorrow night’s performance will be posted on the show’s website.
In related news, Mos and Talib also announced that they have cancelled a number dates on their Black Star tour, including dates in Los Angeles and New York scheduled for later this week. Although no information as to which specific dates have been cancelled, a recent press release indicates information about rescheduled performances will be provided to ticket holders.

Liking Binary Star and Black Star are not mutually exclusive
Most of the solo projects were’nt to the best of standard, and should have continued to make more material through the years to bring that fullness poeple have been craving for.

Was really upset about them cancelling their Charlotte show, but I read that it was all Guerrilla Unions fault…not a surprise. Now I feel like I should stay up for this monumental event.
